I have a friend who was sent a rejection letter in January. But, to be fair, his CFA was sub-par and his leadership experience was negligible. He got the nomination but was sent a denial within a month.Has nobody been rejected up to that point?

I agree. I was rejected by USMA in February, despite being 3Q and having 2 NOMS. GEtting the TWE earlier gave me more time to move into plan BIt seems like it would be good policy to make cuts earlier in this process. There are a bunch of applicants that aren’t competitive. Most of us think they are competitive (or their parents do), but really aren’t in the running. Ends the waiting for those that are clearly not getting selected (for whatever reason).
I generally agree with one caveat. In what appears to be an unusual situation like last year, in which there were only 1,775 "Qualified Candidates," admissions may legitimately not know until very late who won't make it. There were 1,375 offers of admission, and then some number of offers on top of that for USAFAPS and FF. So of the "Qualified Candidates" last year, the vast majority received some sort of offer. It seems like it would be good policy to make cuts earlier in this process. Oh, don’t get me wrong, if you’re legitimately still in the running, then certainly keep your file open. It’s like being waitlisted to a university, if enough applicants go to other schools, you might backfill a slot.I generally agree with one caveat. Last year seemed pretty anomalous in that regard, but without knowing how many "Qualified Candidates" there are, it's hard to know how many such applicants are truly out of contention.
The portal looks different than it did? Mine doesn’t even say CPR- I just have a “100%” and all my checkmarks. Can someone share what a USAFA CPR portal looks like? DD just showed me hers and it doesn't look like it has in the past, but she doesn't have an offer
Same here no change for months.I just have a “100%” and all my checkmarks
CPR is a USNA portal thing and does not apply to USAFA.The portal looks different than it did? Mine doesn’t even say CPR- I just have a “100%” and all my checkmarks.
Thank you. DD also applied to USNA and I've been over on their thread so the "CPR" was stuck in my head. Not intended to throw anyone off. Yes, hers just shows 100% with all the check marks.CPR is a USNA portal thing and does not apply to USAFA.
When you have a decision, there will be a the big Golden envelope that says your decision is ready where the 100% is now. Impossible to miss.
You don't know if it is time sensitive? Can you contact them?I saw an email form someone from the USAFA that was sent to my son. I did not open it. The subject line stated something about " Identified as an Apointee seekin a medical waiver".
He and his momma are in Costa Rica on a school trip.
USNA and USCGA granted his waiver and received appointments. USAF is his dream school.
Thoughts?
I texted them and told DS to check his portal. They will be home Sunday. Hopefully it is not much of a time sensetive thing. You don't know if it is time sensitive? Can you contact them?
Well my DS mentor is MIA from the get go. Luckily he was able to push through with the others and got through. Now that he received his appointment certificate, the SA has notified the mentor ALO and so far we heard nothing from him. That's interesting. Aside from the obligatory initial contact with the mentor ALO that my son initiated, my son has not heard a thing from his mentor.
what state are you inIf you MOC is no longer in office, would I receive communication from the current occupant?
Congratulations to your DSMy son got his golden envelope today! He accepted his appointment. Hang in there, good news is still arriving and I hope everyone receives theirs soon!

The Navy and Coast Guard granted the waiver. USAFA should as well as it was something he had when he was 9 and no underlying conditions.
