USAFA Waiting Thread C/O 2027

Nothing on DD portal so far. Good luck to those still in limbo and to those that found out today you all sound like amazing humans and I suspect big things await all of you. Much luck and God Bless.

Based on the fact that about 11.5% of appointments are reported on here, we can estimate that the 15 TWE’s on here correlate to about 130-150 being sent out today. Which seems like a much more reasonable amount.

DS got the thin white envelope this afternoon. They are sending out 1800 decisions today.
I would love to know where you obtained that number.

That is not something that has been shared with ALOs. And today was not the date shared with ALOs for the "big send out."

TWE today. The sting doesn't sting that bad as DS accepted his appointment to the USMMA over a month ago. For all that got the TWE today, just know that you made it this far in the process so you are already an outstanding individual who will do great things in your future.

Can you please share the date for the "big sent out"?

Blessed to get an answer today. Limbo is the worst place to be. God has great plans for our son and all those who got unwanted news today. Our older son is a 2022 USAFA grad and our younger one has lived and breathed USAFA for the last five years. We thought he would get an appointment with his fabulous resume, but God shut that door today. These kids are all wonderful and if they want to serve, there are many paths. Best wishes to everyone!

Absolutely! Very well said!

God must have some big plans for your DS! I wish him good luck in whatever he decides to do.

I wish there was a care button because I have been over here checking in and pulling for all of you. My DS did receive an appointment (in Jan) even though we were fully ready for him not to since he didn't get into SS at first (waitlisted), but then...at the last minute he received an email that he had a SS slot. Perhaps you will have a similar situation with an appointment or Prep Academy slot. If not, rock that plan B! God bless!

Great perspective. Rest in peace knowing that God is in control.

I'm absolutely stunned. DS isn't aware that he received his rejection letter and I'm working up the courage to tell him.

He received his NJ Senator nom, scored 1460 on the SATs, had multiple leadership roles, an unweighted 3.9 GPA, took 13 AP-level classes including all of the sciences (Physics, Bio, Chem, Physics-C) and Calculus BC. College courses in Calculus 3 and Differential Equations. Did four years of JROTC and is the last stage of his private pilot's license. He passed his DoDMers medical, passed his CFA.

Not sure what we should do next as he had his whole heart set for USAFA. Any advice?

I see that he is an excellent candidate and must have some pretty great backups lined up. It's going to be terrible telling him the news but you should tell him asap so he isn't in the dark, I'd think that he deserves to know. Get those backups ready to go and help him move his heart to his next top choice!
