USMA Denied Thread

Has anyone been rejected with a nomination yet?

My DS had three USMA nominations (congressional, senatorial, and ROTC) and got the TWE in an actual TWE in the mailbox, in March. No 3Q letter but was told that he was Triple-Q. Strangely his portal still shows him as a candidate. Anyone else's portal change after the TWE? Best of luck to everyone!

Just curious if your DS a "competitive" candidate? The reason I'm asking is that we are currently traveling overseas and had not checked our snail mail in almost two weeks and will not return to the States for several days more. On the online portal there had been no changes compared to when we left the States.

I guess the first thing we will do upon returning to State side is check all that snail mail piling up.

Yes, DS was deemed competitive and 3Q. Hope you don't see a TWE upon your return but a BFE!

My DS received a TWE today from USMA admissions.
Actually it was a portal update.
Had Noms (both Congressional & senatorial).
DS has stellar GPAs, excellent Leadership skills & broad ECs, etc..But I guess the competition was fierce this year.
Plan B in place. Moving on.
At least, my DS learned great deal of patience and plus maturity from this journey.
Good luck to you all!

God bless you & your DS. Best of luck on the new journey!

My DS received a TWE a week ago.
Then today, this morning our FFR sent my DS an e mail asking him if he was interested in the "Presentation of "Offer of Admission" at High School Award Ceremony".
We quickly assumed FFR didn't meant to include my DS in the e mail but he was added to the mass mailing list for Appointees Only by a mistake.
Does this kind of mistake happen?
If so, it is so cruel....to my DS who is trying to move on....
Anyhow, we were happy for a short moment for having the thought of "you know"....lol....

Question for all of you: DS received TWE (an actual snail-mail TWE) around six weeks ago but his portal has not changed. Does everyone's portal change? Like @lionking1964 we wonder if one of the things is a mistake. ;)

@lionking1964 - FFRs are human and they do on occasion make mistakes. They are volunteers and have no interest in being cruel to the students.
That said, I'd encourage your son to call the FFR and ask about this.

Agree with @bookreader. I know my local FFR, and he works long hours as an attorney, teaches seasonally at USMA, AND volunteers his time as a FFR. I don't know how he does it!

I am certain that your FFR would be horrified to hear about the email your DS received. They are human and only want to help candidates move forward. I concur, contact your FFR.
