Lol, I will also welcome the loss of deposit money should the appointment Gods cast their light this way! I imagine with the cost of tuition the Plan B people can eat the cost of that pricey tshirt and swag bag! Thank youIt does not. At least it didn't for a family I know. They forfeited the initial deposit shortly after Plan B went into effect. They had visited the school and sat through the welcome briefs (mid April). The child received a small swag bag, tee shirt and lanyard during the mini orientation. Ready to embrace plan B, a wrench got thrown into that plan in late May. The parents and child were surprised and happy with their sudden change of fortune. They were glad at at having lost the deposit money (I'm guessing). Not sure what they did with the pricey tee shirt and lanyard. It’s never over until it’s over.
Good luck as you wait.
Yes, VA-03 MOC here. DS waiting for DoDmer scheduling as well. Heading to other schools for visits, but keeping hope alive for USNA. I have same # if not more greys. Best Wishes! Is there anyone here from VA? I saw that there has been one appointment already and that candidate also received the Pres Nom (in addition to Sen/MOC). I wonder if that was one of the reasons for the earlier decisions and why no other VA candidates have heard yet. I do realize that it's completely possible that VA Candidates have heard and may not have posted or might not even be on this board. I have discovered 30 new grey hairs over the last couple of weeks... LOL
DS too. revert to Tom Petty song...Still waiting... I have a nomination and everything on my app has been done since January except for medical examination, I still have not been contacted by DODMERB at all.
Some people complained about a tough wait for the Ivy day. Oh, they don't know the real torture until they have to wait for the Naval Academy decision!is it just me or did the wait get tougher today
100% in agreement with that statement!!!!!! Every day slowly pushes me closer and closer to insanity as I wait for my son to fly through the door with some form of news!!! lolSome people complained about a tough wait for the Ivy day. Oh, they don't know the real torture until they have to wait for the Naval Academy decision!
Congratulations!! Hoping to see more of these posts soon!I was appointed today. Wait is over! The day will come for all of you. My waiver got approved last month. (No LOA)
Congrats! Did you update the appointment list? What state are you from?I was appointed today. Wait is over! The day will come for all of you. My waiver got approved last month. (No LOA)
Head college counselor at DD's school says it's the toughest Regular Admission year he has seen in his 19 years. Maybe a combination of test optional schools and applicants who took a gap year now applying helped to increase applications quite a lot.Well, the waiting is finally over for the last of the civilian schools my DS applied to. He just got the denial from Duke. Heck, those odds make USNA look like a safety school...lol. Duke received 50,000 applicants for 1700 spots (3.4%). They received 10,000 more applicants this year than last. USNA is the number one choice and would have been even with a Duke admit and NROTC scholarship but he still has some pretty nice B,C, and D options! It can't be too much longer (or can it)!
It really is weird. I thought after last year overall applications to colleges may be down this year. That does not seem to be the case, at least at competitive, prestigious schools, the numbers are way up. From what I have read, “test optional” was a big factor in that. However, I believe many of the smaller, expensive, private schools are struggling to keep their enrollment up. I am also basing that on what I have read and on the desperate emails my DS keeps getting that extend the application deadline, waive the application fee and practically beg him to apply.Head college counselor at DD's school says it's the toughest Regular Admission year he has seen in his 19 years. Agreed! The wait is getting tougher by the day.is it just me or did the wait get tougher today
Haven't seen much activity in the NAPS column. Are they done with prep?Agreed! The wait is getting tougher by the day.
LOL!! Ain't that the truth!!!Some people complained about a tough wait for the Ivy day. Oh, they don't know the real torture until they have to wait for the Naval Academy decision!
Couldn't have said it better myself!Just wanna say thanks to everyone on here...SAF has been my sanity as I wait with my DS who doesn't even know I'm on here. LOL! It's been a wonderful outlet for me to stalk the threads.
