USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

So my DS has not received a phone call or email, but his portal now states he has been offered an appointment to the USNA (yippee!) as long as all the requirements are met by May 15. The only red X is a medical exam but he still has nothing on dodmerb. He was already cleared by USMA and received an appointment there which he must accept by tomorrow. He emailed his admissions counselor but hasn’t heard back. There’s nothing on the portal stating how he should respond. What do we do now 😂?

Accept USMA if he wants to and then wait for USNA to get cleared. If USNA is your DS’s first preference, he can email his RC and decline.

What a problem to have, I'm happy for him. Somewhere in the forum this situation was actually discussed-I'm not sure as a particular thread or just conversation. I believe the gist of it was ....you can accept an appointment, but if you are offered another appointment to the SA you would rather attend you can accept there, and bow out of the initial appointment. Take a look around the different threads and perhaps you will find that convo. Hearing it from me is not "first rate". Anyway, I wish your son the best! my DS has a conditional appointment and waiting on waiver, lord my heart cannot take much more. lol.

Celebrate!

Message your admissions counselor. I got an email response from mine within 10 minutes and then she called me to talk about re-applying next year.
I have emailed mine twice, once on April 15 because it was recommended by LT Truelove, and today because it was also recommended by another LT through the live chat. I have not gotten a response to either emails.

For those who received turn downs this cycle. My heart hurts for you and your families as you went on this journey together.
It’s a blow for sure. A body blow. Absorb it. Grieve it—then let is callous over and be the fuel that drives you moving forward. Regardless of whether you reapply or not. Let this fire you up. Knock the next step of your journey out of the park. Getting this far is a success in and of itself.

I tried emailing my admissions counselor and received an email that he is on break. Hopefully USNA will let me know soon about my decision.

A musical respite. My mid is in Trident Brass but with Covid has not had options for public performances. Here is a glance at what it looks like. in life as we knew it as Normal.
