USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Good morning to all of you who stood the test of time in the USNA Class of 2025 application journey. While I write this I know there are many of you that carry the anchor ⚓ I now officially have been strapped with. The pain is real! The chains are heavy, and it is going to take a lot of strength to stand up. Just like you, I gave it my best effort, but came up short. I arrived at the place I didn't want to go to, but here I am. May 1st, 2021 at 0400 I received my TWE. Instead of a Golden Envelope, I received a new assignment. It wasn't the assignment I was reaching for, but it is the assignment handed to me. I will step on a new ship, headed in a different direction. There will be storms along the way with rough seas ahead. However, the storms will pass and the the sky's will clear. I will arrive at the same place I wanted to go, but took a different route. When I step off of that boat, I will be stronger, better prepared, and ready to serve my country as a ➡️NAVAL OFFICER!⬅️ I am grateful to be surrounded by people who share the same commitment of serving our country. I look forward to meeting you out there on the deck! God Bless you, Keep the FAITH! "DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP!" FLY NAVY! ⚓
NEW ASSIGNMENT: USS REDHAWK 2025
LOCATION: MIAMI UNIVERSITY-Oxford, Ohio
UNIT: NROTC MIAMI OHIO
NSI: PHASE II
The twins embark on a similar venture, different locations .... really thought the two of you were going to be NAPPING next year.... however, you will graduate with high honors... one Luke @ Miami the other @ Embry Riddle. I believe you both will serve and lead in a profound way.
God bless you, TeamLuke!⚓🙏🏻⚓

My heart goes out to you as if you were my own DS. You really should be a motivational writer as you have lifted the spirits of many on this particular thread! I know you are destined for great things regardless of the setting. My DS has yet to hear - no email, no change in portals, no reply yet from admins .....

Just a thought -- and I don't want to give anyone false hope -- but my son is at NAPS and they don't find out until around May 10th if they'll receive an appointment to USNA. They're finishing up finals this week. I would defer to a BGO but I'd imagine some seats are being held for the NAPsters, and it's reasonable that some will be cut in a week, meaning folks on waitlists may still nab a slot. Hang tight, all.

I'm sorry that you didn't get an appointment, but I believe you will find much success as a Military Officer, no matter what path you take to get there!!

Were you given your NSI date recently? I have heard chatter that the cycles have been reduced from 3 to 2 (too many conflicts). My DD should be in Phase II as well (based on the dates that I have seen).

Congratulations on your new assignment! It is going to be GREAT!

TWE for my DS. His twin received his TWE a few weeks ago. I'm proud that he was considered a competitive candidate until the end. Onto Plan B... which now becomes Plan A. Both DS's will be attendind WVU with an AROTC scholarship... Proud of them and how hard they worked to get to this point. Good luck to all of you remaining and those who are in the TWE boat like us... I'm sure great things will come. My only awkwardness is going to have to learn to say " Go Army, beat Navy" since I have been saying "Go Navy, Beat Army" for several years in preparation of the academy LOL. Thanks to all of you for your support, this forum was a godsend! Best wishes to all.
Good luck to them both. Let’s goooo... Mountaineers!

So sorry that you didn’t get the news you wanted. Thanks for sharing your optimum and energy with all on this forum. Your Plan A- sounds amazing! Best of luck at Miami!

Contact your BGO! mine answered right away and found out immediately for me.

Sorry to all turn downs and those waiting. Remember that BGO’s are normal humans with regular jobs some active duty. Our son’s BGO was the head BGO for our state, active duty, an officer and traveled for work a lot. Sometimes there were gaps in comms.
Simple idea, not a solution but might help. Maybe a bubble bath with some Calgon and lavender. It relieves anxiety for me temporarily and I feel like you all deserve that for sure.

As I've observed everyone waiting, I'm wondering, do the academies typically send TWE's to those that do not clear DoDMERB?
