USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Last year, there was an appointment after reporting dates began. Due to Covid, staggered report times, along with the period of quarantine made a late report pretty doable. I’m not sure if there have been ‘after iday’ appointments prior to last year or not.

For sure, not the norm though.

@Capt MJ - when does the cycle officially end? I-day?
At the point when the internal decision is made to offer no more appointments, regardless of acceptances, when the class size is deemed to be within an acceptable range, sometime between now and I-Day, but closer to I-Day, I would suspect. 2025 would close out as 2026 became the new focal point.

I have quoted a former boss of mine many times, “Unless a bearded man brought it down from a mountaintop engraved on stone tablets, anything can be changed.”USNA has plenty of leeway to adjust norms, as we have seen in the past year.

Just got TWE. It was a long wait and in the end not in my favor. I’ll be heading to USCGA. Semper Paratus.
DS had the opposite last year. Had his heart set on USCGA, got waitlisted and accepted to USNA. He decided to take the definite offer at USNA rather than taking a chance on reapplying to CGA. He loves it! I truly believe things happen for a reason. Go in with an open mind and a positive attitude. You will not regret it.

Still nothing on my end

DS emailed everyone he has a contact for - even amidst his Regional competition this weekend. He did receive a reply stating there are a few still under review. We did pay the deposit due May 1 on Plan B and signing day at his high school is Wednesday. It would be nice to know by then but really, if you ask my DS, he would wait as long as he needs to for USNA.

Is anyone else's DD/DS waiting on a waiver? This is agonizing. :confused2:. When I see a new appointee from his state my heart drops...deep breath.
Of course happy for the appointee, but...we have now experienced purgatory.

How long ago were you informed by USNA that they were requesting a waiver on their behalf? Was it recent or awhile ago? Regardless, I'm sure the wait feels like an eternity. Our DS went through the waiver review process as well. Hope you get good news soon.

I think a little over a month ago. I keep nagging him "you sure you sent them everything...??" yada yada. Thank you for the well-wishes, it helps to vent and not feel so alone.
