About this time last year an OP started a thread for '25 from which I have purloined the idea. The OP wanted a venue where “… it would be fun to speculate while we wait, and most all, support each other!” Your thoughts and musings posted here will also help keep the USNA Class of 2026 Appointment list thread from slowly drifting off course.

With each passing day, and as the anticipation of possible appointment builds, I wish all of you peace of mind. Candidates are all in the hunt until told otherwise, so hang in there! Good luck to all.

Yes, participated quite a bit in that thread!

And back into the new one for this year. I'm throwing money on the table that my kid will be on the edge to the end of the game again. Expect a TWE come April 15th.

Thanks for posting. Reference to “possible appointment builds,” we are anticipating for an appointment. Since we started this last cycle, we went thru the height of the Covid pandemic, new USNA application (with all its quirks), mass SAT cancellations, and recently a nuclear strike threat.

Glad someone started this. I've been wanting to post re the new 'placeholder' method using LOA's. I refrained as I didn't want to drive the thread train off the rails.
In the past, the reference to LOA was done and I guess, could be a data point for some.

Now, since all who seem to receive an offer of appointment receive an LOA in their portal just prior to that offer, those looking at the LOA data really don't have that data point anymore.

It will certainly confuse new members. It was hard enough to explain LOA's previously.

@IronmanDaremo still pulling for your kiddo.

I was (blissfully?) ignorant before logging on about a week ago. I knew NOTHING about the SA application process when DD started and I still don't know what I don't know. Her BGO advised me to "stay off the Facebook" as it related to appointment news. And I heeded that advice until I got a peek of the chatter here. Reassuring to know so many are in the same boat, but still not productive lol. Honestly I've been scouring the forums because DD asked me to stop asking her if she had checked her portal. We agreed that I wouldn't ask and that I needed to trust that she is checking it daily and will let me know if there are any changes.

MY DS is anxiously waiting for news and it has become a struggle at home because my DD a junior right now is starting her process just like her brother did last year. She received the Acceptance to summer seminar and while we want to celebrate with her it makes it is so hard to see my son checking status all the time. Now he is thinking he may have to reapply next year and be competing with sis for same nominations 😬

My DD is anxiously awaiting also and just last night she told me that she may withhold information from me when she finds out.... just to have some "fun" with me. She may take after me more than I thought. Sarcasm runs strong. Sending good vibes for your DD.

Thank you-and to yours, too. I think the two may have a lot in common. She would absolutely leave me hanging just for the fun of it 🤯

I have had to do that twice with my dad. It’s my only way of keeping him in check. The more he nags about checking my portals the longer I keep him waiting.

Keep in touch. Fingers crossed and lots of prayers that they'll be plebes together.

It would be just like my DS to do the same and think it’s funny. He’s so stressed out though I don’t think he could pull it off.

So funny. My son is the chill one- won’t check portal more than once a day no matter how much I ask. It’s good I don’t have access because I wouldn’t be able to control myself. One of his classmates applied to army. Received an LOA early December, appointment late January, and here we sit finding comfort among a social media forum with strangers - 😝

Just Imagine what it was like during "Snail Mail":bang:
I think that would actually be better. Only going to the mailbox one time at the end of the day to check the mail.

However, it was quite comical while waiting for nominations to arrive. For our state it was all via snail mail. We live an hour away from the city, so all of my DD's friends from school got theirs a day before hers arrived. She wasn't home, so she made me stalk the mailman through the window for two days straight. Longest two days of my life.

Rual Route and not knowing when during the day mail would be delivered with a long driveway to the box, Check every hour for days until BFE arrived by snail mail while Daughter was away at school. Mother had to call her "You Got In" The adventure began. Four years USNA (great visits many Mid Store runs} and at graduation Daughter selected Marine and now after ten years active duty is IVY Law School. Life is a mystery.
