This is our 2nd go round. He’s a college freshman this year. My DS keeps things close to his chest so to speak. I had no involvement last year or this year.I'm right there with you. And as frustrating as it is, I get it. They're anxious enough without fielding our anxiety too. My daughter set some clear boundaries and told me that I'd need to trust her to handle the process (fair- enough if she can't she probably doesn't belong there) and asked that I ask her no more than once a week if she's heard anything. I've come to realize she's checking her portal, her email, her voicemail as frantically as anyone else, but she's keeping her cool...much better than her mom is.
This was a powerful performance in person. We got to see the first performance of this in Nashville. The allergies were in full force as they performed this song and subsequent standing ovation. Need to keep this top of mind.Brain hamsters going round and round in your brain with the waiting? Re-set your perspectives on the international worry scale and spend some time pondering daily life for inhabitants of Ukraine.
Yes, my DS's portal has been updated several times today. Still CPR. He is supposed to submit his college scholarship awards, and service academy appointments today for his senior ceremony. I guess he'll be late. He is hoping for USNA, but has a good backup with an appointment to USMA (would be a fun in family rivalry). After weeks of silence, my DS's Portal was updated 4 times yesterday and every hour on the hours since 9AM this morning, 8 times so far today. Anyone else seeing a similar sudden increase in the frequency of their updates.
Just wondering, if we have not submitted any new information in awhile, what is there to update. I see my son’s portal was “updated” today as well but his status has not changed. We are still waiting to find out if he got in.After weeks of silence, my DS's Portal was updated 4 times yesterday and every hour on the hours since 9AM this morning, 8 times so far today. Yes and yes and yes! Good for her and good for you. (Amazing how far our kids can go when we’re not in their way.)They're anxious enough without fielding our anxiety too. I know I should already know this but what does TWE mean? Thanks for any info.My DS’s application was done and complete since December. No medical issues, 2 nominations… and he is still waiting too. I really don’t understand how they go through the applications But still no TWE… so I guess we keep hoping, with our fingers crossed. And of course are starting to consider plan B and C seriously.
TWE- Thin White Envelope: A letter of DenialI know I should already know this but what does TWE mean? Thanks for any info.

Thank you so much.Thin White Envelope. AKA Rejection Letter.
The Thin White Envelope has digitally evolved to The Worst Email or The Worst Ever portal update.Thank you so much.
That one I don’t know. I am sure we will begin to read of various “we regret…” notifications.Do you mean there will be no more TWE in mail?
Only email and Portal ? Thanks Capt.
You are selected for foundation and prep offers. You do not apply. You would have indicated “yes” or “no” to the question “would you consider a prep school offer” in your BGO interview. So most likely I'll get denied this year, and I have a solid plan B which is going to Marion Military Institute, but I am wondering how the foundation scholarships work. If you get denied, do you have to notify USNA that you are interested in getting recommended to a foundation school? Or do they just recommend you themselves? I know that appointment rates are a lot higher for sponsored cadets, so I would love to do my year as a sponsored cadet rather than a "self prep" as they call it.
Any information is appreciated!
My daughter has MMI as a possible back up plan as “self prep”.
