USNA 2026 Waiting and.… Waiting

May I ask.... My DD is keeping everything pretty close. I was totally shocked when she applied and a little fearful when they started asking her for information. I cried the day of her BGO interview. She did not tell her best friend she applied till she help a Senatorial Nomination in her hands. How do you know their portals being updated. She is in the Medical Waiver process (that I know because I helped with procuring and scanning paper work). I am here so I do not ask her and add to her stress.

Kudos to you for letting her handle this very daunting process. It’s hard! She is logging in and checking-probably many times daily. There’s not much to know about when or how often the portal updates the only updates that matter after “complete pending review” are a change to appointment or denial. She’ll tell you. Not sure if it’s of any help, but I’ve never seen the portal either.

Do you mean there will be no more TWE in mail?
Only email and Portal ? Thanks Capt.
Last year I received a TWE in my email first. Not sure when my portal updated to reflect that but there was no snail mail follow up TWE.

My husband had a dream last night that DD received an appointment. Apparently it was a vivid dream since he congratulated her this morning 🤦‍♀️. She was not amused. The wait continues....
Hope your husband’s dreams continue and that your daughter will be overjoyed by the news one day. Mother’s might have the same dreams but they are much more discerning. Good luck and sweet dreams to all.

Every time I check the portal it says it was last updated at a certain time earlier in the day. I just realized that the update is really just me looking at the portal. I think every time I go on to check the status , then the next time I log on it says it was last updated the time that I last looked. This must explain why there seems to be so many “updates” to the portal even though there’s been no change in status or news since CPR.

Well ya'll - for most of us we should know within a week. One way or another. For some - a waiting list might appear. But I am personally glad we are only 1 week away. Plan B is shaping up nicely. Although I yearn for Plan C (USMA where his older brother is). However, keeping my lips zipped. He is not me and I need to remember that.

That is not the case for my DS. Once it wasn't updated for days, but the portal was checked (at least) daily...

Thanks. I am proud of her regardless of what happens. Still waiting. Hopefully, we will both get news soon. I saw your post about your husband's dream, my DD would have been a little snarky... I can only imagine how your DD handled it.

It seems whenever my DS goes into his My Progress page, afterwards it shows that there was an update on the hour that he checked. He did this every hour yesterday and a few hours today, to confirm this was happening.

Same here. Every time he checks the portal an hour later it says there’s an update. Even if he happens to look after midnight.

Does anyone know what are the final dates that we must notify a Service Academy if you plan to accept the appointment. I think it’s April 16th for Air Force but I’m not sure what the accept or decline date is for Naval Academy and West Point.

For appointments my DS has received it is May 1st. I understand late appointments will have a couple weeks to a few days - depending on if it is a late appointment or from waitlist. I believe most “normal” appointments are May 1st.

USAFA is April 15th and USNA is May 1st. My DD didn't apply to USMA so I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere on SAF that West Point is May 1st as well.

Still waiting for my kid's requested cardiologist report to get finalized along with a 24 hour monitor results to submit back to DoDMERB for both the Academy and his NROTC scholarship. If the Academy team is actually still interested in him, he may be one of the people that doesn't see a status on the 15th. Or, he'll just get a big fat TWE.
