USNA Admissions FAQs -- "What Are My Chances"

Hello, I'm currently working on my application (c/o '29) and just finished my personal statement. From everyone's experience, is there anyone on the USNA side of the process (admissions officer, BGO, etc.) that will read it and provide any suggestions before it is officially submitted? Or is that part of the process a strictly personal effort? Thank you all
No.

I would find an English teacher to proof it.

My son has mild/moderate hearing loss and wants to be a fighter pilot. He does have to wear hearing aids. Does this disqualify him?

It is supposed to be a personal effort. Admissions will review when final and submitted.
I don't review (or see) as a BGO, although some BGO's might. I think the gouge on SAF has been to have someone that knows you -- parent, school guidance counselor, etc. review and provide feedback.

Recommend posting on the DODMERB page below..you might get more views/response, . I know the DODMERB standards have been posted in the past,

Keep in mind, there is a difference between Officer accession standards and flight accession standards. I presume there is a hearing standard, and it might be waiverable for officer accession (i.e. attend a Service Academy), but not waiverable for flight. (As a general rule , the requirements to be qualified for fligt training are more stringent than attending a service academy or commissioning).
