USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Does Admissions wait until April to notify candidates of rejection or is it also on a rolling basis?

Declinations will start appearing. No doubt some are already out there - low-hanging fruit, sadly, such as clearcut CFA failure or non-waivered medical.

Does anyone know if Senator Schumer has released the amount of applicants he’s had to the Naval Academy in any recent year?

Before DS hit “accept” I asked him again if he understood his commitment, and if he still feels this is the path he desires considering our World climate. His answer was, “now, even more than ever” - I still haven’t figured out how I feel about it; I’m proud of the man he is becoming and worried of what is ahead. God bless our nation, our soldiers and our families 🇺🇸🙏🏼 - I would love to read Brothers Forever, but perhaps I should wait a little longer 🤣 - this mama’s heart can only take so much! 🤣
Yes, hold off on reading it for now. You’ve got this!!!!

Hi. My DD applied in District 1 Maryland and we are waiting like so many others. Has anyone from the Eastern Shore of Maryland heard anything yet? My DD is 3Q with an MOC nom and a letter from Senator stating she would have his nom too but it was known that she already had MOC nom.

Welcome new member of 17 minutes!

I recommend browsing back through this thread and looking at the USNA Appointment List for Class of 2027.

I answered a similar question in this thread recently, see link below, but also addressed being “3Q,” something USNA does not usually tell candidates.

Low hanging fruit? My son currently is medically disqualified, but he’s anything but low hanging fruit. With so many variables, I guess a lot of things beyond his control could designate him as “low hanging fruit.” He will as he always has control what he can…onward upward

Capt MJ is not only one of the best resources on this site imo, she is also one of the most compassionate people I have interacted with. She meant no offense.

Low hanging fruit, by definition, is “the obvious or easy things that can be most readily done or dealt with in achieving success or making progress toward an objective.”

In this regard, she is simply saying that the rejections that come earlier are the ones that can be rejected because the candidate isn’t 3Q. Medical is the most obvious.

Regardless of rejection, many candidates that get rejected are awesome humans, great students, and have bright futures ahead of them. Your son I am sure fits this.

Best of luck on a waiver, or plan b.
