This! My fondest memories of the Yard include the simplest moments:I would say just being present and having coffee or a lunch or walking the yard are a gift.
Walking with DD to Hospital Point on a Friday afternoon, and hearing greetings between her and various mids along the way. It really is a small world.
Walking alone along the perimeter of the Yard, then criss-crossing at various points, while witnessing the rhythms of mid life. It really is a different world.
Sitting with DD by Gate 3 on a quiet Sunday morning as she spots something through the corner of her eye. She instinctively straightens up, turns her head, nods respectfully and says, “Good morning, sir.” The Supe, dressed in sweats and sneakers, greets her back. It really is N*OT COLLEGE.
