USNA Class of 2027 Waitlist: Team Hopeful

Wait so what does this mean? Does this mean they got the amount of people they need from the waitlist and will stop sending them until someone gets cold feet?

I guess I assumed that was what the waitlist meant from the start of it. Cold feet, medical dq, etc.

I think it was NavyHoops who said some years none come off it. Maybe my memory is bad.

I think there has been a fundamental change since Covid. The medical quals/waivers are running much later in the cycle than previous years.

My guess only... That is likely causing a lot of "probable" slate winners getting late LOAs and others getting waitlisted, waiting to see how that medical finalizes. As medical denials occur, those waitlisted move up to slate winner. Again, that is my theory based on the timings and various anecdotes since 2020.

I woke up at 6 am to my status at CPR and it changed to FQO at 10 am.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.
Congratulations! Good to hear waitlist is still moving. Do you mind me asking if you were waiting on a waiver or had an LOA?

Nothing like that. I got waitlisted during that time in April where a lot of TWEs and waitlists were sent out.

To everyone still waiting, I also had lost hope and was fully prepared for plan b but there's still a lot of time before I day. It's not over till it's over!

Is it common that you will indefinitely sit on WLA, or will they take you off the wait list if the admissions office knows they no longer need you. Restating, do candidates get taken off the wait list, or will your portal continue to show WLA, even if the admissions office knows they can’t appoint you? Thanks.
