Anything this early is usually Presidential Noms -MOC are generally just starting to think about Noms now.
(I know ..there are 535 different MOC and all can have their own process..but I always conflate HS football playoffs with MOC interviews here....had a candidate one year explain how his shaven head was a big topic of his interview after the team shaved their heads for state championship game).

Did your daughter get a letter of assurance or offer of appointment?

Two different things.

The LOA turns into an offer of appointment when you are 3q, have a nomination, and meet any other requirements listed in LOA.

Respectfully, this is a thread for actual offers of appointment, where the candidate is fully qualified with a nomination. It is not unheard of for a candidate to receive a Letter of Assurance, a form of conditional appointment, and the condition is not fulfilled, thus, no appointment is offered. It happens every year - a nom not obtained, a medical waiver not given, a CFA not passed.

We have seen posts elsewhere of several others with LOAs with conditions, just waiting as the process plays out.

We all hope candidates with these LOAs return to post their appointments in the coming months!

And welcome new member of 27 minutes! May I suggest this thread (see link) to hang out during the LOA wait. Elected official noms are not due to the SAs until Jan 31, 2024, though they can be submitted beforehand. The SAs will start hitting their stride with issuing offers of full appointment in February.

Sorry I posted about my daughter's USNA - Conditional Offer (LOA). Perhaps on the first post on this thread, there could be a notification "This thread is for appointments only not LOA(s).

Thank you! I was really hoping someone else would post first so I didn't have to lol.

I know portal voodoo is a thing with college applications, but I did try not to read too much into the email on Friday telling me to check, when there was nothing updated there. I didn't open it again until yesterday evening, and I guess it updated sometime over the weekend.

It was a nice surprise for sure!
