USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

In our state after you pass your hydration test, preseason, you cannot drop below a certain weight week to week. All of which is given to wrestlers in their 'weight plan.' Be safe, folks.
Same here, but the way it all happened was pretty funny

I got a concussion in June (which I'm still DQ'ed for 🙃) and chose to not wrestle the first half of my season as a precaution (as much as it hurt to say at the time, my brain health for the rest of my life is better than some flimsy highschool sport, despite how much I love wrestling). Since I didn't wrestle until January, my weight loss plan was all the way at its peak, meaning the 132 weight class was at the lowest I could go. I had a tournament on Friday and started a brutal 18 lbs cut in order to make weight, because I had gotten fat after ~2 months of not wrestling. I made weight.

Having to be taped doesn’t mean they will need to ‘loose weight’. In fact, a muscular athlete could be over, and need to be taped to insure it’s NOT fat, and is muscle (which weighs more).

My son had this tapping done as a condition, similar to blinks. And by the school nurse. He was in full blown state championship football muscular weight. Got taped and was fine.

Having to tape doesn’t imply weight loss is necessary.
