USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Speaking of, I've been reading the beef going down in their threads to help pass the time. Anyone else been partaking?
DS had no interest in AF so I do not believe I have read much…. Any one care to point me to the correct thread? 🤣

From what I've heard, the academic board meets on Thursdays to review files and assign a Whole candidate score and a decision on whether the candidate is academically qualified or not- this process should be pretty much complete for everyone now. The real arduous part, which I believe everyone is in right now, is where the nominations and appointments board meets to actually pair up qualified candidates with nomination sources, and I've heard they meet any/every day they can.

If you think the academic part and scoring is done, are those who are not qualified been notified that they are not?

I have had candidates this cycle notified of a turn down. And some of these candidates had nominations. I imagine it varies based on congressional districts.

"two other Academies" USCGA and USMMA commits are seething
Since ya mentioned USMMA I wanna get on the record for saying what a class act that place is! We spent the last three days at Kings Point, going through the breifing and tour and talking to admissions staff and just experiencing the campus and culture. My DS did the overnight visit. It’s a gem! It’s small it’s personal and less serious a bit annd more focused with less major choices and more based in giving you a skill and not sending you directly to commission as an officer. But it’s full of great smart motivated and dedicated people where you can participate in sports and clubs and do a sea year and learn a skill and get a fabulous free education in a military atmosphere and come out either making big bucks in maritime industry or commissioning as an officer in ANY branch or taking 8 years reserve at just two weeks commitment a year. You get excellent small classes and top notch teachers. My DS loved the sailing; never sailed and just loved it! They have D1 sailing; all other sports are D3 or club (they do have ice hockey!!:) PM me if you have direct questions; honestly, I know NAVY is all that but it’s also ridiculously hard to get into and this is a fabulous second choice. Really fabulous! You owe it to yourselves to check it out fully and see if it’s a good option for you too. Thanks for listening! Y’all were waiting anyways! Let’s keep the hope and keep up the waiting patience!:) Go NAVY!
