USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

While compiling the data the 2nd purge occurred on 4/11, and it was three times a big as the first. Now seeing the final numbers I have I'm not sure what to think for tomorrow. All I know is that there are a lot of us still "Pending".

Obviously this is not scientific in any way. It is data gathered mostly from the Waiting and Speculating post, but there were other posts as well. I'm also sure there are those that posted they were Pending at one point but then left the forum after either getting a TWE, decided on another school, or something else and didn't let the rest of know. I only went off of what I last saw posted by the SAF member. So again, these numbers are not going to be 100%, but I thought it was an interesting snapshot.

Number SAF members in the 2024 Application cycle who have commented that the status of their USNA application was at least pending: 302

The latest updates from this SAF accounts give these current numbers for applicant status:
TWE: 36
NAPS: 5
Appointment Accepted: 101
Appointment Undecided: 18

Awesome work!! I love this! I think admissions should check out this site; they’d get a wonderful back door window into the genius hardworking folks that are sitting pending! I’ve seen such resilience, determination, heart, helpfulness, empathy and just some good old fashioned smarts! Aways work while ya wait! great job and good luck and Go NAVY!!:)

For argument sake, let's assume 250 (this was close to these year's class). Of those about 20 are Coast Guard Academy, so now 230. Of those about 40 - 50 are priors (currently enlisted sailors and marines), so say, 45. Now down to 185 competing from the direct pool.

I just want to say I don’t know what tomorrow will bring for our “Pending” DS, we’re just two old enlisted jar heads that somehow managed to raise a child into adult hood with dreams and aspirations bigger than we ever could have imagined for him, ourselves. Thank you for being a source of info, calm and realism during our time waiting.

I suspect they do.
They worry about inaccurate info being put out.
I have occasionally received DMs from various Admissions staff at USXA over the years thinking me and others here for steering applicants to primary sources.
 
Pending in CT.

My son has been checking his portal and excitedly telling us he's "still pending" and "still in the game". I'm proud of his outlook at this point. He knows he'll end up exactly where he's meant to be. His plan B is Marion Military Institute and he's very proud to be headed there if things don't work out for an appointment this year. Good luck to everyone on their journeys!!
