USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

My candidate was turned down at some point today. Not sure when it was. His future is sooo bright. Onward with an amazing plan B. Now maybe I can stop shoving stress food in my mouth! I’ll be departing the forum. Good luck to all. Hoping your dreams all are fulfilled!
Best wishes for his amazing plan B!!!

For those that didn’t get in this first try, I’ve been shocked at the number of plebes and Napsters that I met these past couple of years that didn’t get in the first try but wound up as plebes via NROTC/reapply route, foundation, “from the fleet”, BOOST, etc. it’s real. This initial setback will test their desire…If you, your DS, or DD want this bad enough, it’s still doable.

Well, finally got the TD today. Turned down for NASS, turned down for Inspire (twice), didn’t get a nomination, and Annapolis was so kind to drag it out until April 16th to beat me down once more. Good luck to everyone else, it appears that Annapolis is just not in the cards for me.
Best wishes for future successes wherever they may be!

TD 😭😭. My DD only applied to USNA after feeling at home @ NASS. We have no military background, she's first generation American. I wish we would've done so many things differently based on what I know now (Thanks for this forum), but I found you too late. Off to plan B. With her associates degree completed upon graduating HS, she'll be done with college in 2 yrs. Not sure if she'll want to reapply - She's still in school.. We are 💔. Good luck everyone.
Disappointing, for sure, but also great that she will finish her college work in two years. All best wishes!!!

That annual crushing (usually) generates a staggering amount of revenue for USNA athletic programs.

In 2007 my oldest son was representing USAFA for the Tri-Services Open Powerlifting competition which was held at USNA that year. My wife and I had flown to Annapolis to watch him compete. The USAFA and USMA teams were assigned Midshipmen to stay with on campus to save lodging costs, so my wife and I said our goodbyes to son after the tournaments and headed to our hotel. The tournament happened to be the same day that Navy beat Norte Dame. From our hotel we could hear the celebration happening in The Yard. It was quite an experience.

Setting aside the “dragging” characterization, did Admissions wake up every morning mumbling bwah ha ha, how can we torture this candidate some more? You didn’t have a nom (not USNA’s fault), yet they saw enough that impressed them that they hung with you as long as they could. They said they would let most know their status by mid-April, and they did so. NASS and Inspire are recruiting and public relations outreach programs that have no impact on your candidacy, and many applicants are turned down, for simple capacity reasons. It is indeed tough news, but you are in control of how you feel and think about it. If you want to go there, you reapply, regardless of how your process played out. If you are ready to let it go, that’s okay too.

I’m kinda detached from outcome because he has good plan B. But just speculating he was asked by medical department to clarify a wrist injury in February. Is that part of a DQ waiver?
