USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Sending my hugs to all of those (parents and applicants!) who had disappointing news in the last 24 hours ... feels like running your best marathon after years of training only to collapse with a sprained ankle right before the finish line. 😓

For those who plan to apply again (or who were already applying again this cycle), I am impressed beyond words and deeply admire the perseverance and wish you the best of luck! And for those moving on to a Plan B that does not involve applying again, may you carry something golden and unforgettable about this time with you as you embark upon your future endeavors, it will serve you well!

For all those still pending - stay strong, you got this! And, finally, to all who received appointments - CONGRATS!!

Well, my DS was Pending, TWE'd, Pending and today Turned Down. He is a re-applicant and 4 weeks away from finishing his first year at his PLAN B (4-yr NROTC_MO). All I can say is, "IF NOT ME, THEN WHO" ~ Travis Manion ..... My DS will be the "WHO" just coming in from a different road. #RAHVAMIL
Good Luck to ALL the waitlisted, and TWE's .... Amazed at all who selflessly have choose the to serve.
I am so sorry to hear this! Your DS is a gem! It is great to see those who are determined to serve and become an officer one way or another! It shows dedication and commitment! ❤️

DS Turned Down in NV... While awaiting USMMA... Tomorrow we are leaving to check out Plan B AROTC with the TAMU Corps of Cadets! Gig 'em!
it will be interesting to see how many mids/cadets at TAMU are going to apply for service academies this incoming year. Congressional staffer says that we use our home district, but that doesn’t help too much (for me at least), honestly.

15000 applications started, i wonder how many are actually completed
The number of completed applications is significantly less. I don't think USNA reports the complete stats, but I would reckon a guess its about half.
In 2007 my oldest son was representing USAFA for the Tri-Services Open Powerlifting competition which was held at USNA that year. My wife and I had flown to Annapolis to watch him compete. The USAFA and USMA teams were assigned Midshipmen to stay with on campus to save lodging costs, so my wife and I said our goodbyes to son after the tournaments and headed to our hotel. The tournament happened to be the same day that Navy beat Norte Dame. From our hotel we could hear the celebration happening in The Yard. It was quite an experience.
I was at the Game..it was crazy !

It is insane how there has been no reported appointments in the past few days.
Correction..none are reported on SAF. SAF Is not the whole picture. SAF is a good sampling, but the number of Candidates who have not heard one way or another at this point is small, and getting smaller.
The area coordinators are applying lots of pressure and keep the faith.
BGO Area Coordinators have no role in the process , and certainly aren't pressuring Admissions. Admissions knows their job, and is right on track. As I noted the other, this year really isn't different than the past.

Do you often see appointments this late in the game or is it mostly NAPS, Foundation, Waitlist and TD? I'm sorry if this has been asked before and I didn't see it.
