No. USNA does not release where someone is on the waitlist.

The waitlist at NAPS is a relatively new thing. Only been around a few years, so it’s hard to know how many get off the list. Today appears to be the first postings of the NAPS waitlist. Not sure how many they have on their, but it’s smaller than USNA’s.

I don't think there's necessarily a ranking for the waitlist, since everyone still has to be assigned to a particular nomination. Not everyone waitlisted can be charged to the same nomination/given a special unicorn nom from the academy.

If they do rank, they do not release that info. It’s a mystery to everyone but admissions.

I assumed the ones coming off the waitlist are ones that aren’t going to be charged to MOC.
 
So if i just have an MOC nom, does it mean i’m probably not getting off the waitlist?

I agree in theory. Last minute LOA or waiver that doesn’t go thru they had someone slated in or cold feet and someone backs out… if someone aligns on the wait list to that nom they could do that. Also could slots someone from the national pool to that skate and then pull someone from the wait list and charge them to a sec nav. So many scenarios possible

Waitlist is better than a TD, so congrats on getting to wait longer. With so many of us. Curious; how does one get so far in the process without nom? I thought they were essential.

According to the Q&A doc, around 70-120 are on the NAPS waitlist
 
OMG!!! My DS is at practice so I won’t be able to know for another hour what his portal says!!! Everyone went from Pending to NAPS waitlist? Also, I didn’t know they had one. So how would that work? Same as USNA? Just sit and wait for a call to go?
