No. USNA does not release where someone is on the waitlist. This morning I got an email saying that my TD turned into a waitlist!!! I’m so excited but does this mean I’m at the bottom of the waitlist?
That didn’t until a year or two ago. It’s a relatively new thing.Congratulations I didn't realize they had a waitlist for NAPS.
The waitlist at NAPS is a relatively new thing. Only been around a few years, so it’s hard to know how many get off the list. Today appears to be the first postings of the NAPS waitlist. Not sure how many they have on their, but it’s smaller than USNA’s.Are we the first ones for waitlist to naps? how many people go to naps off the waitlist
I don't think there's necessarily a ranking for the waitlist, since everyone still has to be assigned to a particular nomination. Not everyone waitlisted can be charged to the same nomination/given a special unicorn nom from the academy. This morning I got an email saying that my TD turned into a waitlist!!! If they do rank, they do not release that info. It’s a mystery to everyone but admissions.I don't think there's necessarily a ranking for the waitlist, since everyone still has to be assigned to a particular nomination. I assumed the ones coming off the waitlist are ones that aren’t going to be charged to MOC.I don't think there's necessarily a ranking for the waitlist, since everyone still has to be assigned to a particular nomination. I don’t think it means that at all.So if i just have an MOC nom, does it mean i’m probably not getting off the waitlist?
I agree in theory. Last minute LOA or waiver that doesn’t go thru they had someone slated in or cold feet and someone backs out… if someone aligns on the wait list to that nom they could do that. Also could slots someone from the national pool to that skate and then pull someone from the wait list and charge them to a sec nav. So many scenarios possibleI assumed the ones coming off the waitlist are ones that aren’t going to be charged to MOC.
Last year my DS was NAPs waitlisted … there was a thread we all joined. A few came off of it, he received TD first week of June, then headed off to NSI the next week his Plan A.2.I’d like to know too!
Waitlist is better than a TD, so congrats on getting to wait longer. With so many of us. Curious; how does one get so far in the process without nom? I thought they were essential.Just checked and I got waitlisted. VA-10. No nomination. Looks like i will probably go plan b, usmc bootcamp in the summer and then join the VT corp of cadet, will start reapplying after bootcamp.
I don't think so. I don't want to spend another year waiting to see if I'm going to be far away restarting a degree I've already started, not to mention trading pre-med for chemistry.Oh nooooo!!! I’m so sorry NavyGirl! Will you think about applying again? Whatever you choose, you will do great things!!
According to the Q&A doc, around 70-120 are on the NAPS waitlistThe waitlist at NAPS is a relatively new thing. Only been around a few years, so it’s hard to know how many get off the list.
