Received a letter from Senator Kaine and it wasn't good news... I am worried and sad. I really can't picture myself any other place than a service academy.
I know Senator Kaine definitely sent out letters for the Navy nominations. I have a close friend who's applying for Navy and he received one last Friday. Likewise, another friend received a rejection letter from Senator Warner for Navy, but that was a while ago and because his SAT scores weren't competitive enough.
I'm applying for West Point and don't believe any of the nominations have been sent out (I hope so anyway). I've got 4 other kids from my school applying to West Point, and none of them have heard word from anyone. Allegedly, Warner and Kaine are supposed to send out West Point nom's before Christmas. I'm just counting down the days!
Thanks! Yeah my friend got the nom from Senator Kaine, and yes I did interview for Senator Warner a few weeks ago.I know Senator Kaine definitely sent out letters for the Navy nominations. Good luck! Did you interview with Warner? And did your friend get a Kaine nomination?
I heard back from Senator Kaine (bad news) and I haven't heard back from Senator Warner yet. Seeing as they don't double nominate, I'm not going to worry, however does this apply to all nominations or just the applicants in the Kaine/Warner pool? Last week I received a presidential nomination and I'm wondering if that would have an effect on any other potential nominations.
Likewise, I heard back from Senator Kaine with a negative response. Hoping I'll get better news from Warner. I have a Presidential and Son of Disabled Veteran nomination, and I asked if that would hinder my chances when I interviewed for Warner. From my understanding, they're trying to get as many people as possible nominated to the service academies, so having a Presidential puts you at a slight disadvantage. They said that if you were virtually identical with another candidate without a Presidential nomination, they'd pick the other person over you. That being said, so long as you're not tied for last it shouldn't be an issue.I heard back from Senator Kaine (bad news) and I haven't heard back from Senator Warner yet. Don't hold your breath. Slates aren't due until 1/31 so it will likely be late Jan or even early Feb before many folks hear about nominations.Hoping congressional noms start being announced soon! I have heard Warner's staff works closely with the districts to nominate as many kids as possible.
Beyer (VA-08) has notified nominees.Hoping congressional noms start being announced soon! I have heard Warner's staff works closely with the districts to nominate as many kids as possible.
Rec'd a reply from Rep. Wittman's SA coordinator after DS emailed him. Good news for DS. Official letters should arrive any day.Has anyone heard from their Virginia MOCs?
He did not. It wouldn't hurt to email him.Did he by chance indicate that only letters to nominees are on the way?
