So does anyone know around when the Visitor Center has sales? I was looking through the stuff during Parents weekend and it seems like a great place to shop for Christmas Presents, but being a poor preppie I couldn't peer past the prohibitory prices. I would assume there are times of year when they're trying to get rid of stuff to make room for new merchandise, does anyone know what those would be?

Toward the back of the gift shop, there are typically a few racks with a fair number of items on sale (i.e. closeouts). It’s something I’ve seen on every visit. Other than that, I haven’t seen sales that we associate with other retail stores, probably because the inventory is pretty evergreen and demand is high.

The Visitor Center gift shop does have a few clearance racks now and then, but I don’t know that there is a pattern to it. My wife’s motto was always “We don’t pay anything for college so I can buy everything.....”

The AOG website has a lot of nice gift items and they always have close out items on sale under the “Featured Items” tab.

+1 @Stealth_81 I would feel better about about my (and my wife's) Visitor Center gift shop purchases if I know that a percentage went back to support the cadets. Not that it really impacts our buying habits, but it would make me feel a bit better about paying top Dollar for USAFA gear... ;)

Just go ask them. They have pretty good sales a couple times a year. I can't remember when or I would tell you, but the store attendants would give you the best information. They also have 10% off for military every Wednesday.

I remember going through their sale racks and seeing a ton of things for newborns, and oddly colored sweat-shorts (who wears those?). Through some pay-to-join organizations, you can get a 10% discount.

I still have the sweatshirt I bought when my class of 2012 twins were 4*'s.

During this past Parent's Weekend, the Visitors Center gave a 20% discount to active duty, retired and veterans. The AOG gift shop gives a 15% discount to AOG members all year.
