Does anyone else find it odd that a large majority of people are being waitlisted for STEM?

Each session has its own waitlist. My Mid told me that a lot of kids drop out so what session are you waiting for? We are on the list for session 3.

attending STEM has no impact on your USNA acceptance. Don't make yourself crazy over being wait listed.
Well, I didn't apply to increase my chances of my USNA acceptance. It's a STEM program, not the gateway to Navy—I'm sure we all know that.

Ozzy you are a rude female and don't assume everybody knows the impact STEM at USNA has on an application.
I'm not trying to get into an argument, but I believe you may have falsely accused OSSY. I have read many of her posts and none of them have come across, to me, as being unkind. She may have been expressing a genuine opinion, not trying to be rude.

Dear Addicted: I am 18 years old and I know better than to disrespect someone else's mother - my mother&father would go off on me. So, Momofmod, DrMom and all the other mothers up in here get my utmost respect. The original post exudes sarcasm. Anyway, Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!!

I'm sorry if my message came off as rude... that was not my intention. I was trying to say that I'm not upset I was waitlisted because I thought I would lose the chance to improve my USNA app, but because I wanted to attend a STEM program and most likely won't.
Again, I apologize. I didn't mean to disrespect anyone. Though it is pretty sad I'm just considered a "petulant child" on this forum.

OZZY this is exactly what I hate about text messaging and posting on forums such as this. It is way too easy to read into people's words and misinterpret their intentions. Thank you for your apology and I apologize for calling you petulant. Good luck on your journey. It's a long process and hopefully you'll continue on this forum. Invaluable information here. GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!

FWIW: trying to interpret tone in email, text messages, postings, etc. is about as useful as using a monkey wrench to fix an iPhone. Or about as easy juggling two greasy otters. Or usually about as accurate as a blindfolded monkey trying to hit a bumblebee with a beer bottle.

Did I mention I love bad analogies?

I literally racking my brain trying to figure out how this statement could come across as "petulant".

Waitlisted, but I would't be able to go anyway because Session 3 is my finals week. They had a record number of qualified applicants. Also the program has grown in popularity enormously in the past two or three years. Go Navy!
