Hello- MY DS received a DQ but for something we think, based upon other posts, is waiver eligible. How were you notified that a waiver had been initiated by your SA? The DoDMERB protal or the SA Portal? Thanks!Title says it all. If my waiver is denied, does that there is no point in pursuing an appointment to that SA?

USAFA notified me that they had initiated the waiver process by posting a letter to my application portal. In that letter, they asked me to call a number to confirm my status. DoDMERB themselves did not contact me directly (and at the time of this writing, there is no update to my DoDMERB status since the original DQ for USAFA).Hello- MY DS received a DQ but for something we think, based upon other posts, is waiver eligible. Can you confirm that the waiver request was put in only after your app was 100% complete, to include your interview? Since I think I read you did your CFA recently, was that the last part and the waiver request came right after?USAFA notified me that they had initiated the waiver process by posting a letter to my application portal. Wow! That was a fast turnaround! I’m sorry to hear about the denial. What has your ALO said?Update: After completing and uploading my CFA results to USAFA, I received a letter on my portal stating that my waiver has been denied. The letter was posted the next morning after my CFA. I don't believe the timing of my CFA had a bearing on the determination of my waiver.
When I received the waiver denial letter, I still had the essays to complete and the ALO interview to do. There's really nothing I can do as far as this waiver denial goes; I gave all my eye doc records to DoDMERB when then requested a remedial.
I suppose that's it for me at USAFA. I hope USNA will grant my waiver. Good luck to all candidates applying for USAFA this year!
It's DoDMERB, so sometimes it depends and sometimes it doesn't. They are not the final deciders, that responsibility goes to the individual SAs, so if need is higher one year than another at one school or another then some opportunities could change. But if you're facing a hard DQ for a substantial reason it's not going to go away. And sometimes it matters how long ago it occurred. And a different doctor could write a better note. And so it depends and people recommend reapplying. But your chances? It depends.
