WAKE FOREST ROTC

I have no idea, but I’m a Wake grad who went Navy. Glad to see you are considering! No regrets about the places I said “no” to go there. Quality education, close relationships with profs, relatively small student body, and cool overseas houses.

If you are in the process of applying for an AROTC scholarship, apply for Wake’s many merit-based scholarships too, in case the AROTC doesn’t work out. I am forever grateful for the gift of education they gave me.

And, go to their website, review, organize your questions, and call the ROO on the phone, demonstrating your skill with all manner of communications. That’s what the ROO is there for!

Can’t answer your question, but I’ll share something DD said to me a few months ago. (For context, she was then a 2/C mid at USNA and had been admitted to Wake Forest.)

To paraphrase DD: “If I didn’t go to USNA [or my #2, USMA], I think I would’ve loved going to Wake Forest. Seems a lot like USNA, with small classes, rigorous academics, really smart people, close relationships, beautiful setting.”

The first time I ever heard of Wake Forest (long ago) was in that tear jerker flick, Brian's Song. Brian Piccollo played football at Wake and lead the nation in rushing one year as a collegian. He later played professionall with the great Gayle Sayers in Chicago.

My oldest started there (4 year AROTC scholarship) but then re-applied to Army & Navy, moving on to USNA after his first year at Wake.
