how does weekend leave work at the academy?
Plebes actually had their very first liberty two weekends ago. Restricted to in county of Nassau but they managed with ubers and parent assists. Not allowed over night - just day trips in the age of COVID.If you are a plebe, leave is severely restricted. With COVID, its pretty much non-existent due to lock downs.
As a plebe, assuming no Covid, do you get the “leaves” shown on the calendar? Looks like there is a leave for fall, thanksgiving, winter and spring. Thanks. Trying to figure out what dates are relevant to put on our calendar! As a Plebe, assuming no COVID, you will have no liberty until after parents weekend. After that, it will be extremely limited until recognition which comes in the spring. You will get occasional liberty as a reward, but it is usually only for a limited time with no late night/overnight liberty allowed. As soon as you are rewarded with liberty and try to make plans, it will be arbitrarily taken away at the last minute. Each year at the academy will provide you with more liberty and more freedom, but Plebe year is very restricted. Your best bet to get off campus is through team movements with a sport or club.
Yes, plebes get the leaves and breaks shown on the calendar--assuming all things normal. You will learn, however, that the life of a KP parent involves maximum flexibility and pivoting! The Mids learn it right away and sometimes it takes the parents a bit longer to figure it out. Prepares all well for life after USMMA...As a plebe, assuming no Covid, do you get the “leaves” shown on the calendar? Looks like there is a leave for fall, thanksgiving, winter and spring. Thanks.
