The first day really isn't that bad because most of the time is spent getting all the stuff your going to need or organizing the rooms. The first week they will be very strict, maybe longer depending on your cadre. If you preform well or slide under the radar you will be fine. Same with the second detail cadre switch over. For the most part the cadre in most companies were more relaxed the second detail. Most people liked second detail more because of the stuff we get to do out in the field, however it is more challenging for sure. Staying out in the field was not bad at all, but we also didn't have much rain. I didn't think I would like sleeping outside but I did, just make sure to bring bug repellant to keep ticks off because we don't use tents. For the most part it was challenging to just keep myself busy. I am bad at the knowledge memorization so I had to put more time into that. There also is not much time for hygiene. Cadre are a major factor in how good/bad your time will because some of the luckier squads get a chill squad leader who everyone likes, others get the exact opposite. It certainly did not get worse as it went along, if anything it go better. There will be a lot of fun moments and a lot of bad ones. For example the 4th of July concert or when my class got to watch the World Cup championship together. Bad moments are when the whole squad/platoon is being punished or when you have to rush an hours work into 15 minutes. There is no major moment that I said "this is the hardest part of beast" but it's more like a bunch of little things compiling that can make it a bad time.civic, what would you say is the toughest part? The first day, the camping out, or did it just progressively get worse?
