What does this mean?

I got an LOA awhile back and I have everything done in the portal. My medical needed a waiver but I just checked my portal today, and it shows that yesterday there was an update in the portal that shows a checkmark on medical. I have done everything else and gotten a nomination but my portal still just shows that I have a conditional offer. Did my medical get cleared or does it just mean a waiver was requested?

If your most recent communication said you needed a waiver than I would have to say that is where you are.

If you are in the limbo of status updates, possibly your medical status is in between updates.

As hard as this is, none of us on this forum can grant you confirmed info. Waiting and managing expectations is part of this process which will help you grow in ways you cannot imagine.

Pop up on the live chat on the Admissions page, have your candidate number ready, simply ask for the meaning of the new check mark on medical. If it is indeed a waiver, resist the urge to ask about an appointment. The live chat is usually at noon EST most days.

Once the stars align for an LOA with conditions, things have to be properly checked and blessed, elected officials notified in case they want to call (regardless of where your nom came from), and it’s simply a waiting game with high hopes then. This can all take some time.

Case in point here:

For future reference:
LOA came September 13th.
All conditions showed complete in CIS December 7th (delay with DoDMERB being down).
December 14th status in CIS changed from LOA to pending and also got a call from my nomination source congratulating me.
December 16th CIS showed offer of appointment.

Nine (9) days elapsed from everything complete to Offer of Appointment.

I found out what it meant: I was medically qualified and now they are reviewing my file for appointment. I have an LOA so I am excited about the possibility of being appointed. Thank you for all the help

I also have an LOA and nom, and am going through the waiver process now. If you don’t mind me asking, how long did your waiver take? I understand it is a very different process for everyone, but I’d thought I’d ask!

I am in the exact same situation here: LoA, nom, and just got that “check” (granted waiver) on my portal in the medical section a few days ago. My waiver was requested on 9/21, and was officially granted on 12/13. Every waiver is case by case, but just know it can take that long or even longer. Then again, it can take a lot less time too.

My waiver was granted in like a week and a half. DODMERB is working through all remedial and waiver issues before anything else. So it took like 3 months to hear that I was disqualified, and about a week to receive a waiver. It's different for everyone, Navy specifically was worried about a past concussion that I had, so I just had my doctor write a note and it was good.
