What song/album/artist are you listening to?

Once again I am listening to Lucy Thomas, she of the clear voice, beautiful tone, control and pitch perfection. Got my feet up and earbuds in, wonderful Easter day with family, mids, alumni sponsor daughter.

I always liked Stephen Tyler’s rock voice on this classic Aerosmith song, but Lucy’s cover bring out the beauty in a different way. Check the notes at 3:30, effortlessly delivered.
 
Time to get some new posts here…drumline performance by U.S. Navy Band below. I get drumline videos popping up in my YouTube feed because I subscribe to the Top Secret (Swiss drumline group, amazing) channel.

 
These days, watching (it’s on YT) and listening to a lot of “Darryl’s House.” Hall & Oates were big in my formative years. Darryl Hall has created a fantastic series in which he brings artists of various genres and eras to his farmhouse / studio. They play each other’s music — backed by Darryl’s band — which leads to amazing arrangements and renditions. It’s like hearing the songs for the first time again. Great stuff for us who grew up in the ’70s and ’80s. I’ve also learned of many new artists whom I now enjoy for their own music.

Love this rendition of “While my guitar gently weeps” at the rock and roll hall of fame induction ceremony for George Harrison a few years back - Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, Dhani Harrison And Prince who does a great solo at the end.

 
Do your toe-tapping muscles need exercise? This starts slow then gets going. Celtic. I have a playlist of Celtic instrumental tunes for weightlifting sessions at the gym. Just gets the blood going.


There are lyrics. First heard this from Celtic Woman. I like instrumental for working out though, and Royal Marines never disappoint.

I went to a Taylor Swift concert over the summer with DC. I've been listening to the Era tour playlist ever since. If I am banned for this. It's been a honor and pleasure getting to know all of you. ;-)
