What's a breakdown of I-Day at USMMA

I wonder how they will handle those that have received the vaccine. Too far out to assume but I would hope they take that into account.
I think USMMA will need to follow NYC guidelines. NYC says your vaccine must have been completed at least 2 weeks prior to arriving and there isn't enough data to know if the vaccine is still effective after 3 months. The bullets below post what Cuomo has recently put into place effective February 12th in relation to vaccinated travelers going to NYC:
  • Are fully vaccinated (i.e., ≥2 weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or ≥2 weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine)
  • Are within 3 months following receipt of the last dose in the series
And of course, showing no signs of Covid.

Don't assume. Best to wait for official guidance. USMMA is a federal facility and not subject to State guidelines (as I understand it).

True. I was just posting what was required of visitors that had the vaccine as of today. I was thinking more of a visitor perspective than a plebe. I'm hoping there is even more change in the coming months.
I read under another SA that all should consider arriving with what is required of the state. Although the post was not from Admissions. My folks are considering kicking me to the curb, Lol.

For the Class of 2024 it was literally a drive by drop off due to COVID. No parents allowed thru the gate so unfortunately, I probably can't answer your question very well. We did not get to meet and mingle with the other parents, we didn't get to walk around campus or visit the Navy Exchange store, we don't really have any photos of the day as it all happened so quickly. I wish we could do it all over again the normal way, although I'm sure my DS might think differently. I just really hope the Class of 2025 and every year going forward is different and maybe back to somewhat normal. It makes me sad to think of the memories we will never have.
We were told this years I day will be the same. Drop and go.

Vaccines recommended but not required. KP is a federal service academy but following NY State guidelines. At this time no parents allowed in for reporting day but could change between now and July 9.

For class of 2024, it was drop and go. There is a parking lot for the football field that many parents congregated in and started networking with one another. The National Parent's Club leadership gave a small talk and were there to answer questions. There were no pop-up tents selling parent club merch or school merch. It's a little bit of a rip-the-bandaid off moment as you say your goodbyes and off they go into the unknown, but in reality I am not sure how different it would be under "normal" circumstances. I've heard about parent informational briefings and the opportunity to see a transformed mid in uniform with no hair (for males), but I don't know if that is in any way comforting to drag the separation out and watch strangers yelling at your child. To some extent, the clean transition seems better in my mind. Back in the day, my mom found it traumatic to think you can pick your child out of a crowd only to see everyone in uniform with no hair -- the challenge and panic is real as you try to find Waldo. Fortunately, today - the Kings Point Photography club become the missing link and fills in those gaps for parents as they capture tons of pictures and post them to their facebook page. If you are not already following them, you should do so.

Of course we also had a Tropical Storm barreling down on the state of NY. Left us deciding to hit the road quickly and miss the meet up! 😂

Really, most mids admit that their parents were an unnecessary distraction on I-Day.
