When does USNA start sending out TWE?

Son's TWE is coming any day now. He knows it's coming. No nomination to USNA. Our congressional district coordinates with senate and will only give one nomination to one academy. That's it, was only allowed to interview with one academy panel. He got a single nomination to USAFA. So the TWE to USNA will be here at any time. We are actually surprised he hasn't received it yet.

I was going to ask the same thing. I know they are college re-applicant so hopefully speaking from last year's experience! My DD got TWE on Tuesday :(

I'm so sorry! We've all been on this roller coaster ride together and I've been hoping for all happy endings. It's not over though! I'll be thinking BFE thoughts! [emoji1]

Sorry to hear that, it was gut wrenching! I am saying a prayer that USMA comes through so we don't have to do it again :(

Thank you, it was a rough 24 hours but she has bounced back (I took it harder I believe). She has a 4 year AROTC to Auburn University already in place with academic scholarships to cover room and board, so very solid Plan B. However, she is still waiting on USMA which is her first choice and AFA, so all hope has not been lost :)
Sounds like her dreams are still coming together:p:p

They certainly are, she has worked hard and with scholarship in hand she can see it paying off. She was told by RC at USMA that she was #2 on her congressional slate and that the person ahead of her had not accepted offer yet so they were waiting to see if they did before they could make decision on her appointment. She knows that there were a few that received congressional nominations to multiple academies in our district, so the optimist that she is hopes that the person who had not accepted USMA appointment was waiting on USNA and has now accepted that one, prompting her TWE and now USMA can offer appointment. May be wishful thinking, but as of right now it is keeping her from losing hope!

Thank you, I cried and she consoled me! She is strong and knows no matter what she has a great plan B already in place if need be. It was the first TWE she had to open so it was just a blow.

We are in TN.
Hang in there mom. My daughter was rejected from most of her schools last year. She ended up going to college she thought would work out. In January she applied for the first time to USNA, USCGA and USAFA. She worked hard her first semester, got amazing grades and sought out her professors to get to know them so they would know her. She asked for Letters of Rec from them and put together an impressive application. Today, she has been accepted to two of the three and we are waiting on the the third.
We too dried up buckets of tears last year and she was very low. We encouraged her to not wallow in self pity, move on and accept the gift she had in front of here. She considers this a blessing and that this last year really got her ready for where she is today. Tougher, stronger and academically better prepared for her appointment to the USNA.

Thank you so much for these words of encouragement. Congratulations to your daughter, that is truly inspiring. If when all is said and done she does not get appointment this year and decides to reapply, I will once again be here riding the roller coaster with no regrets.

What an amazing story!! I tell my DS all the time that no, dosn't mean no...it just means not right now.

Teragram, I am so sorry. Your daughter has great things ahead...I promise.
When I get home late tonight I will ask D to check his USNA portal.
I am too stupid to figure out how to do the 'quote' right now--but my phone rang with an unfamiliar number while I was addressing my accreditation team...and I pushed it aside.
When I looked again there was a text from #3 to check my email...and when I quickly glanced at my email it was from the Congressman's office congratulating him and telling him to expect a formal email from USAFA because he had received an appointment. Hope that helps.

Now, I am praying for everyone still on the CPR...including my own little #3...waiting to hear from USNA.
Good luck to all.

My DS is in the exact same boat as yours. DS is fully expecting TWE to USNA in the very near future. We are in the north Tx district.

Congratulations, that is so exciting!! She was told she was one of the stronger candidates in our district and has nominations to all three academies she applied to so we are holding out hope the odds are in her favor for an appointment to at least one. Then she will have to decide between that and her scholarship. Either way, wonderful things ahead for her :)

Sorry about USNA, @Teragram.
Your DD sounds like she has Plans B thru Z all planned out, plus a 4 year to Auburn is already a big win! Congratulations for that!

That is so true and they need to take the opportunity to grow from the disappointment and become stronger. My daughter broke down sobbing when she was flat out denied from Notre Dame. Well no she can't wait for Nov 18 to get here! Go Navy We have always told our children when things do not go their way to say to themselves......This is just an event. It does not and should not define who they are for the rest of their lives. I had my kids read Miracle in the Andes so they could have some true perspective on what real tragedy is how to move on in life. Hang in there, stay strong and I can guarantee you this time next year your lives will be wonderful.

There is a great book on the mania involved in applying to top colleges. The name of this book is a great philosophy for both those are fortunate enough to receive appointments and those who receive TWE's.

The title of the book is:
"Where you go is not who you'll be"

Teragram...I was where you are just a week ago. The week was tough, but now he's focused on plan B and C. I won't say there haven't been tears from mom.
Thank you for posting your experience. Like you, I believe that posting my experience will help other's in the future. Although I'm now more focused on the ROTC portion of this forum, I always check to see how you all are doing!
Wishing you all nothing but good news...and if it's not...it will be just fine! Blessings!
