Mothers, you just got to love 'em. Our son went through all four years at KP without A/C (and with no hope of having any) and survived quite well. The fact that some midshipmen now have A/C and that all will have A/C one of these days is a good thing. Patience, Mom, patience. Your son/daughter will survive just fine. I know for a fact that they will as I went through basic training in Kansas in the summer many years ago with A/C and my kid made it through KP without A/C. Amazing how one can adjust. Hang in their Mom and all will be fine. A/C is coming to the Band Company...eventually. I know..."It's not fair".
Bottom line here is, of course, money. KP seems to always get the short end of the stick when it comes to funds for facilities and academy improvements. That's the KP way of life. One thing that could improve upon that is for alumni, parents and friends of KP to start donating to the Foundation in greater amounts. Many KP grads are financially very capable of giving back, and many do, but many choose, for whatever reason, to not give and that hurts everyone associated with KP...even the current midshipmen. Think about it, and while you are at it, write your congressmen and senators and encourage them to support KP with increased appropriation levels.
