When will BFEs be sent out?

I received an offer of admission from West Point last Thursday. When will I receive my BFE?? I’m curious haha!
DS received his offer of admission on 12 December and received his BFE around the first or second week of January.

Last year, my son received his appointment on December 6. His BFE came in the mail on January 7.

My friend got his admissions letter December 10th and actually received his BFE the same day lol. We live 30 minutes from WP so I guess that played a factor.

You will receive an offer of admission letter in the "Official Correspondance" section and new prompts will appear on the overview page of your portal.
There will be a BIG PURPLE BOX that appears when you log in telling you that you have been offered an appointment. You will not miss it. Your portal updates.

Just out of curiosity, how long did those who have been appointed hear about their appointment after completing their entire application and receiving a nomination?

I'm in that portion right now. Nominated by senator and I completed my app. Curious to know when I'll find out.

Appointments are given out from September through late spring and a few final ones after that. Some will have little time between noms and offers/notice of declination, some will have months.

The range of waiting time is broad and is not necessarily correlated with when you submitted your part of the application. There are several moving parts, not all under your control, e.g. MOC noms, DODMERB. The DOD SAs announce that most appointments are offered in February and March — some earlier, some later of course. So that should be your expectation. They’re putting together a puzzle and it takes time.

As hard is as it is to do, refrain from checking your portal every three minutes. Spend the time more productively, such as working on Plan B, C, D and so on. Get in better shape, because if you do get in, you’ll need to be. And spend quality time with family and friends, because this stage of life will be over before you know it.

Abby and All, it depends. Appointments have been drifting out since September--but just a trickle. There is normally a big first wave in mid-late January when about 500 BFEs are sent out & folders are updated. That said, you will hear by 1 May. It is a long wait between now and then and you may hear nothing until your portal updates with the big purple box or the BFE lands on your doorstep or your Senator/Congressman calls you with the good news. Not hearing until mid-April does not mean you won't be accepted or are less likely to be accepted, it just means you are still in play while Admissions builds the perfect incoming class. So, hang in there. It is hard. Keep faith.

I received an appointment 10 Dec 2021 and am awaiting the bfe in the mail currently

DD got an appointment in her portal the same day her BFE arrived. We are fairly close to West Point so that probably was a factor. It was awesome because she had no idea what was coming and it was an absolute surprise.

DS got the appointment in November. He is still waiting for the BFE. Should he worry?
