Looking at the trends from prior 4 years, there has historically been a decent number of appointments to go out between now and 1 May. These figures would typically include those in USMMA sponsored Prep School programs as well as self-prep. I was told they considered the class "full" on 13 MAY 2020 by a USMMA admissions rep, but a few additional slots surfaced and the latest SAF reported appointment in the prior cycle was 29 May.
What does this mean? Nothing really - past events are not necessarily indicative of future events. However one may opt to make several logical inferences.
1) There are still appointments to hand out
2) At some point within the next 45 days, expect admissions to send out non-selection letters. Some who receive this letter will feel the whiplash effect and actually be offered a slot as things shape up and other declinations come in.
3) If you have not received certainly on your status by 15 May, chances are significantly reduced but not zero.
4) USMMA has a target number of students for the class of 2025 and they will offer appointments up to the July 9th report date.
Strictly looking at the trend chart from today through the end of the Admissions Cycle for this calendar year, you can see there are decent numbers left to go. Even if the class of 2025 continues to track with the class of 2022, there are more than 10 additional appointments we could expect to be reported here. The other classes saw more than 20 appointments reported relative to their 1 April starting point.
Best of luck to all still on hold!
