Will Top Gun 2 affect USNA admissions?

Anything that promotes awareness of Naval Aviation is likely to have some impact ....the degree of impact will vary on if, or how, USNA is portrayed.
(I believe there were some increased application following Top Gun 1)

What I would like to know is when the heck are they finally gonna release this movie?!!

Yeah it will but I won’t watch it after I heard scuttlebutt how TC acted towards the sailors while filming onboard the carrier

TC is always a d--k. He's renowned for being one on all his movie sets.

Top Gun came out while I was in high school, and knowing that I would be moving back to Annapolis to finish out my high school career, I figured there was little to no chance that I would make it in (as a home town kid, with everyone my age that wanted to join the military then wanting to be a pilot ..... which I had my whole life). So, I didn't put a lot of effort into my application. And it showed. :p

It will 💯% raise the number of applicants not only to the Naval Academy but to NROTC as well. I for one can’t wait and I’ve been pissed every time Mr. Cruise has pushed it back. Now I can’t even see it opening weekend because I will be in Canada on a fishing trip for a week.

I think I'm gonna disagree here...
Also respectfully disagree. Every military pilot I knew wore sun glasses to protect their eyes. I wore Navy issued sunglasses while I flew, and Ray Bans off duty- still wear them. The movie came out right after I was winged and it was good PR despite the flaws. Now wearing the sunglasses at night in the Miramar O... that's a different story. Although the song "Sunglasses at Night" was very popular - really dating myself.

Yep. Those sunglasses were from AO (left below) and not teardrop shaped. Ray-Bans (right below). Blecch!
