I never thought my plebe would be celebrating a 74% on a final. But, Chemistry 2 is no joke and is made even tougher trying to figure it out from 3000 miles away. For all of the incoming plebes reading this, please know that the academics are tough and while most of you are 4.0 or above students and have never tasted a "B" or "C", please be prepared to study (a lot), join study groups, participate in extra instruction, etc.

Way better than I ever did as a Plebe in Chem! Congrats to them and I am sure he is relieved to have it behind him! I found physics much easier.

My DD is a Napster. She went from being that 4.0 kid in high school to being happy to get a C in Chemistry and Physics. She said the biggest thing she has learned this past year at NAPS is humility...and to celebrate the small victories!! This new lesson will serve her well next year. Congrats to your DS on passing Chemistry 2!!

I knew that DD spent a lot of time studying but now that I'm seeing it with my own eyes I'm nothing short of amazed that these young people have so much dedication. Congrats to the OP's DS and passing Chem II.

My USMMA DS celebrated with a D in physics of all things. This from a nearly straight A kid in IB classes in high school. I did not understand his glee until I learned that over half the class failed and had to go to summer school. What an eye opener!

That's one thing about having them at home right now. When we would text in the pass and I would ask him what's on his agenda, he would say homework/studying. I had now idea how much homework/studying he was doing. Significantly more than I ever did. Of course, I could never have made it into an SA....Not even West Point .

So, given this huge adjustment, and all the stress associated with plebe year - why would DS try to place out of any classes?
