World Series

I read somewhere that game 5 might have been the last one ever played without a DH, depending on how the CBA negotiations go this winter. I know the pitcher ABs are mostly perfunctory, but they do introduce a small wrinkle that will be lost when this rule is inevitably changed and I'll miss that little extra bit of texture in the game.

It feels pretty inevitable when you consider the players want the extra hitter position in the lineup/payroll, the owners want the extra offence to remove the "boring" outs even though they still have to play 27 but whatever, and the pitchers hit about .100 these days. OTOH Grienke got his hit on Tuesday, so there's always that chance that today could be the day. You never know: I was there when Cecil Fielder stole second base against the Twins late one September, and those moments are what make watching the games fun. Whatever, good series, let's get through this off-season and get things moving again.
Just now seeing this. I like having the pitcher in the batting order. The Braves pitchers in the 90s could hit. They took pride in that and took extra BP. At a minimum, pitchers should know how to bunt.

Greinke, Ohtani, Kershaw, Bumgarner. Wainwright.

These guys can RAKE. The DH would take these guys out of most batting orders. (except Ohtani).

Plus I also dislike the DH rule because a pitcher never has to face chin music.
