World Series

Just a question? Any one ever play Stoop Ball (across the street to the other curb was a home run} or try to hit a 25 cent spalding with a broom handle? Those were the days when baseball was THE GAME. Not so much any more:(

My back yard had a short porch to left so over the fence was a double and across the street into Keith Bolton’s yard was a homer.

That Braves lefty pitcher was on point. Over the line was a Southern California dream child that became an epic beach or lawn game. I’m subbing for pe tomorrow and that’s our game!

Just looked up "Over The Line" and it looks like T-Ball for California semi adults? Hope it doesn't migrate east.:yikes:

We played half ball more than stoop, or stick ball. I actually have it with me on campus and we play at least a few games each weekend.

By SD I hope you mean San Diego not South Dakota, God help us if it is moving east. What is Half Ball? We should start a thread for games played as kids with directions.:) Anyone under fifty not allowed.

Always gets me when they do it like it should be done. Tears to the eyes. Wife is big Cardinals fan but I can't see it:bang:' Ole Miss was a train correct?

My dad and I live in Memphis, where they have the Triple-A redbirds. They feed jnto the cardinals so we thought it was only right to start supporting St. Louis!

What do you mean by train? The lane train? Train wreck? (Usually a train wreck, but not this year for some reason)

Braves Win !!!

On a day when the Braves name and the Tomahawk Chop are once again protested, the Braves organization had an honor guard from the Cherokee Nation present the colors for the national anthem sung by Zac Brown. I hooted, hollered, and laughed so hard my wife thought I was drunk.

Digging through some memorabilia. We went up from Jacksonville to see some games during that mid-90s run by the Braves. One day Javy Lopez was signing pre-game autographs at the top of the dugout. My daughter said, "Hey Javy" and threw him a baseball and it hit him in the left cheek bone. He signed it and tossed it back up. A few years ago he was doing an appearance at a minor league game and my daughter and her friends went. She reminded him of that day and got him to do a pic with her and the rest of the girls. She has it hung next to a lot of her sports memorabilia.
