Wow - we have been so focused on the Big Fat Envelope, that we did not even think to ask how they did rejections.
Is this summary correct?
You may learn of an appointment by the following:
1. Notification via phone from Congressman/woman.
2. Change of status on Admissions website to "Appointment Offered".
3. Big Fat Envelope with Appointement letter and other mysterious items which make it Big and Fat.
You learn of rejection via a TWE - Thin White Envelope only.
Perhaps I should ask my son to stop checking the mail every day.
I don't think Navy admissions website (CIS) ever shows a status change (USAFA's does)--but the DoDmerb, as others have mentioned, will show "offer extended" instead of "In Process".
