New York

I don't know how many were interviewed for USMA, only that there were two waiting when we left the office. In fact, when I posed the question to the person who called to schedule the interview, he said that was not allowed to tell me the numbers, only that DD had already passed a "rigorous screening." We are eager to get through this week's interviews and hopefully get some good news! Several of DD's friends from SLE have gotten noms in the past couple of days.

hutchdweller - I only know the number of USNA candidates interviewed b/c I could count them off of the sheet the security guard checked DS's name off of when he was checking in in the lobby at the building entrance. A little trick I've learned from business meetings in NYC! ;-)

:wiggle:Watching my husbands face as he listened to the messages on our answering machine......priceless! Our Congressman personally called and said the letters would go out Monday but that DS had received a nomination! DS of course had just pulled out of the driveway....I will have him check for messages when he gets home at 2. Can't wait to see HIS face!

Wow, wow, wow!!! Congratulations! :smile::smile::smile:

Nomination!!

The call came in! DD has received has received a nomination from Senator Gillibrand!! :shake:

Congrats to your DD, Hutchdweller! To USMA, right? DS also got a nom from Sen. Gillibrand but to USNA. He has LOA to USNA so should be a BFE just around the corner!

I just got the phone call from Senator Gillibrand's office informing me that I have been nominated to USNA! I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not they ranked the nominations by primary, first alternate, etc.?

Congratulations DS of JShawshank and Anthony96! :thumb: Well done!
Yes, my DD's nom is for USMA. She does not have an LOA, so if there are any other USMA nom's out there with the LOA, please let me know.
Anthony, as far as I know, the NY senators do not rank their slate.

Hello-do you think Senator Gillibrand is done handing out nominations?

Just found out that I got a nomination from Congresswoman Slaughter (NY 25th district). She doesnt do principle noms so im just on a list. Does anyone know if there would be any advantage of still applying to the VP? I don't have an LOA or anything.

Why not apply for VP nom? Every admissions related person DS has spoken to encouraged application to all available nomination sources. IMHO, in addition to the potential nom for you, it also gives admissions the flexibility to slot more quality NY candidates in the event that there is more than one in your district. You can only be certain you won't get it if you don't apply.

In any event, congrats on the nom!
