Jake will end up with a super late appointment if it keeps going this way! If you get the BFE it will be that much sweeter. Maybe whoever infront of you on the slate has not accepted/declined or is waiting on a waiver

I would encourage everyone still waiting to email your RC. I still have nothing posted on my portal but through communication with my RC I was informed that I will "at the current moment" not be admitted to USMA this year. It really helps to be able to put your full energy into your Plan B and start working on nomination applications for next year if you plan to re-apply. Good luck to everyone!
 
Are there a good number of applicants out there for 2019 that haven't received a TWE or Portal Change yet?

My son, who has a MOC nomination, still has not received a TWE nor a portal change, so I assume he is still in the game. We did put a deposit in the Plan B school, knowing that we may lose it altogether if the BFE comes, which is still our hope. . .
 
Nothing new here. FFR said that another appointment is most likely going out to someone in her area. Keeping up hope that that's me!

Jake if it makes the wait any easier my FFR knew about my appointment but couldn't tell me anything before it arrived.

The wait is over! I've been in contact with my RC about improving my application. He called this morning to say that I won't be offered an appointment for the class of 2019. That stung. But, only just a little. He apologized for having to relay the news and followed it up with the usual "you were a top notch applicant but our class size is limited..." spiel. He also walked me through the reapplication process and made a few recommendations. (Your had a good CFA, but try and improve more. Your ACT was above average, but every little bit helps, etc.)

Well, not exactly how I wanted all that to end, but hey! You can't pick and choose, can you? Time to get my head in the game for ROTC orientation in August and reapplying! Class of 2020, here I come.

That's the right attitude to have. Good for you. Good luck in AROTC and the reapplication.
 
I'm so sorry @JakeFromWisco. Will you attend Wheaton? I see that you have an AROTC scholarship there. It's an amazing school and I would have loved for any of my kids to attend there.
 
Sorry Jake. Make plan B your very top priority. Make As. Excel in ROTC. Re-take ACT and SAT and get your application done EARLY!!

Yep! I'll be attending Wheaton this coming year. I visited the school once last summer, and really liked it. The campus, the student body, the academics and the FOOD!





Thank you all for the encouragement and kind words. As long as I can serve as an officer, I'm a very happy man! I'm sure I'll be back later in the year and update you all on the happenings when I get on the roller coaster a second time.
 
I've only heard good things about Wheaton. I wish that it had been an option for a few of my kids.

We lived within walking distance of the campus for many years, have friends on faculty and in the student body. A great place to be, whether next year only or for your entire undergrad. Check out Church of the Rez while you're there. . .
