USMA doesn't offer a political science major but it does offer majors in American Politics as well as Comparative Politics. I imagine they are similar.Also, are there careers in the army that would make the transition easier? If so, what might they be?

WHY would your major matter? The people aren't going to elect a degree, they're going to elect a person. You must be THAT person, not THAT degree.
