Totally told it was required. Definitely a legit source, snake's honor!AND a contribution to the Bacon thread doesn't hurt.
Thanks for responding.first decision
DS still waiting on USNA decision. Took SAT's fall of his Junior Year and did pretty good. No med waiver required. 2 nominations. No LOA. Still waiting.....Interested in seeing how many those still waiting (without waiver or appt issues) did not submit test scores due to COVID cancellations. I know my DS and one other poster here for sure. From the beginning I always expected kids in this boat would get “last look” and maybe that is coming to fruition?
I don't understand the rationale behind extending the deadline, but I feel like there are one of two scenarios going on:Thanks for responding.
Waiver clearance dates moving out a week or so to May 15th makes sense in the current environment. However, moving first decision notifications out to May 15th, as you were told, is really painful for all of these Candidates waiting.
Not necessarily. If a nominating source does a ranked slate, for example? That dictates which qualified candidate receives their appointment. A waitlist isn’t a ranked national list.I don't understand the rationale behind extending the deadline, but I feel like there are one of two scenarios going on:
1. USNA has given out all the appointments, and any future spots that become available go to those on the waitlist. So unless they've been holding out an appointment for us (which is extremely unlikely this late in the game), we're just being strung out to receive a TWE.
2. If people on this thread end up getting appointments, this undermines the entire point of the waitlist to begin with.

Unfortunately, it seems like a wave of TWE's must be coming.
- USNA said previously that the 1364 Appointees 'had been notified' - which is the LOA and Conditional Appointment group. It seems that if their Waivers do not clear, or complete Appointees decline, then the Waitlist is activated for the appropriate Slate/Group. I don't see a scenario where first decision notifications will be Appointments in the coming days or weeks.
- USNA has said that Candidates continue to be considered for all options. So NAPS and Foundation Scholarships could be the decisions still being evaluated. However, there was a recent post of a Candidate with an LOA, and no Nomination, who was told a TWE is coming. It doesn't make sense that a LOA Candidate didn't get NAPS or Foundation if the only issue was the Nomination.
NAPS is not a “way station” or “holding tank” for LOA holders who didn’t fulfill their condition. It’s a place to get some “additional academic preparation” before taking on the classroom rigors of USNA.However, there was a recent post of a Candidate with an LOA, and no Nomination, who was told a TWE is coming. It doesn't make sense that a LOA Candidate didn't get NAPS or Foundation if the only issue was the Nomination.
Been doing the double port for weeks now. Still just says application 100% complete. Nothing more. When DS asks Admissions Coordinator he just tells him he will know by (insert current USNA target date). So we waitDo that double portal login and I am sure yours also says "Congratulations, your application is under review". It means nothing though, DS has been that way for months and he got a TWE on April 15th and still says that. Hang in there! Decision has got to come soon.
What do you mean by "first decision notification"?Thanks for responding.

Congrats! This gives me hope as some on this thread seem to believe only TWEs will be coming out from now on and I was beginning to lose hope. Dont give up the ship!Good news to share..DD received the much awaited appointment offer email today.
Congratulations! Wonderful news! Very happy for you! Keep the FAITH! Fly NAVY!Good news to share..DD received the much awaited appointment offer email today.
Those on TeamLuke's list who do NOT have a prior notification (i.e. Conditional Appointment pending Waiver). What do you mean by "first decision notification"?
That’s my son! Those on TeamLuke's list who do NOT have a prior notification (i.e. Conditional Appointment pending Waiver).
They have complete applications, including DODMERB in many cases, and not received a "first decision notification" of any type.
It seems that the majority of those waiting on this thread are in that bucket.
