USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

And looking back 6 out of 17 people on our small little waiting graph we’re under review.... that’s 35% if you explode thst out to 35% of 16,000, that’s 5,600 candidates under waiver review just getting TKO.
Folks, please be careful with all the speculation because you’re just as apt to needlessly send others into a tizzy as you are to clarify anything. First, it’s silly to use a sample size of 17 to project to a much bigger group. Not only is it overly small, it’s surely not representative either. And even if it was, 16,000 is the wrong denominator for any calculations. That’s the number of people who merely started an application. The last layer of candidates before offer of appointments are made includes those who are 3Q with a nom. That group numbers between 3,000 and 3,500.

You're right, my mistake. At the end of the day, all we can do is think, wait, and pray. I strongly believe that whatever happens, happens for a reason. All of us on a path towards success and a life worth living. I am proud of all of us as we navigate these trying times, as we wait patiently, and as we surrender to powers beyond our control. That being said, the day is coming to end, sleep is upon us and tomorrow is a new day, with new light and new opportunity. As they say in the SEALs, "The only easy day was yesterday".

Some part of me thinks that the access to the USNA chat and on demand file review has aided and abetted the frenzy. Not the fault of the academy or the applicants but not a useful tool into leaning in and waiting and waiting and planning plans B-R.

I will reiterate my counsel to spend time with friends and family and self and to disengage from all stress that you can control. Regardless of the outcome, life as you know it will soon change and you will miss those moments with family, friends and yourself.
Seek those moments now and let go of the reigns. You have cast your best application and the rest is out of your control.

I would be happy to just get “Congratulations your application is under review” all we have is application is 100% complete. We know that. We knew that back in December although it took forever for the portal to update DS has contacted admissions officer several times but he constantly confuses him with other applicants and had little or no info. Frustrating if this is all just to be lumped into the last batch of TWE’s. Just wondering if his application has even been reviewed yet..,
Do that double portal login and I am sure yours also says "Congratulations, your application is under review". It means nothing though, DS has been that way for months and he got a TWE on April 15th and still says that. Hang in there! Decision has got to come soon.

Good counsel! I have seen some folks on here thinking that April 30th is D-Day (pun intended). As far as decisions go, it does not have to be this way. You can press ahead with Plan B by sending in your deposit (generally around 100$) and letting your ROTC CC know you are heading their way if applicable. This in no way means you can not change course mid-may. From personal experience, I was "committed" to Montana State University, had scholarships lined up, had signed up for classes, and even had a roommate. Mid-July I got a better scholarship offer from Marquette University and by the end of August I was packing my bags for Milwaukee. As they say in that other branch we don't talk about here, "flexibility is the key to airpower".

I would like to talk to you about MU if possible. I tried to PM you, but I think you need another post before I can do so. Would you mind PMing me? If you would like to share additional info on NROTCMU Thanks!

DD’s portal updated today and she has met all conditions for her LOA. Hoping for good news soon.

Not Giving up the ship.
Just give it about a week to 10 days, I was in the same boat last week and even though I was told plenty times that I was pretty much there I continued to constantly stress. Smooth coasting now!

If you picture putting together the class of ‘25...it’s like a puzzle. Where you sort into piles matching colors, objects. Snap together the easy pieces that make sense. The outer edge of straight pieces. You keep on pulling from your different piles, creating the masterpiece.

The piles diminish. The puzzle is coming together. But some of those pieces in the puzzle might come out (people who decline), and you have to go back to your pile to find another fit (if not to determined class size/yield yet...I know it’s not a piece for piece trade).

The puzzle master keeps working and working until the very last piece is snapped in. That’s where y’all are now. Few left in the piles, last pieces trying to be fit in.

Once the masterpiece is complete, sans a few on the waitlist for different specific scenarios, that’s when it’s done.

Y’all are so close. Speculation is normal, I get that, but trying to infer outcomes, based upon changes in portals, etc, really isn’t helpful. Y’all really just have to wait. I agree with a previous poster who mentioned that all the access y’all have had, however well intentioned, has created a kind of frenzy.

Difficult to be patient. But really it’s all you can do. It will All come together the way it’s meant to or needs to. At the quickest time it can.

I’ve been there. As a parent. With an early December appointee and a later May appointee. I get it. But trying to FIO is wasted effort, TBH.

Hang in there everyone!

Wow. The idea of pushing this decision off again... Certainly hope this Admissions Counselor mis spoke
Remember when I made that joke April 15 that I really hoped we wouldn’t get to April 30 and they would say, “You will get an answer by May 15”? 😂 Still hoping that isn’t the case!
Edit: Just to be clear everyone, I think we’ll have answers by April 30, or at least most of us.

Hoping you are a piece on the table being picked up with the white glove, placed perfectly. Keeping the FAITH! Fly NAVY! ⚓ Now this is what I was talking about!!! Let's GO USNA!:band::band:
