Capt Myers Sir, If I may. Nurse Option Boards I know are few and far between, but considering the application period closes Jan 31, could one "assume" another Nurse Board coming. As I said in a previous post, my DS was Board Ready Jan 4th, or so, and my DS has already been accepted "Early Action" Nov 15th, to one of the hardest and most select Direct Admit Nursing Schools in the country. There is a board wrapping up this week, and it was a fairly large one. I doubt there will be any news over the weekend, but hopefully sometime next week. With omicron bouncing around it has slowed things a bit. But there is another board coming up in the next 10 days, so the results should be coming pretty steadily. I just dont want to make a prediction but we are in the peak season of application boards.

So, he doesn't have to be a tier 1 major. Over half of my freshman class are tier 3's. But, there are those who are terrified of calculus and physics, and that becomes the deal breaker for them. Thanks Capt, Yes my DS would be competitive for a regular NROTC but wants nothing to do with a Tier 1 Major.
What I "think" has happened is that some of the board members who had Midshipmen on one of these two boards have sent congratulatory emails. Nothing wrong with that, other than the fact that the civil service team is still trying to enter all the data into the Navy Option, Marine Option, Nurse Option, and ISR option databases and that takes time. I would not read into the fact that your DS has an empty inbox to be bad news. There just isn't a clean and easy way of getting the results out.Captain -have you heard any specifics on the timeframe for releasing these two rounds? sounds like some may have heard this am but would they do throughout the weekend and next week too? just sitting here biting my nails
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you guys!!!!!!!F--K YEAH!!!!!! HE GOT ONE!!!!!!!
Just got the email!
I"m totally going to smoke a cigar tonight - way better than refreshing an inbox. You somehow made me feel better - thank you and happy weekend! What I "think" has happened is that some of the board members who had Midshipmen on one of these two boards have sent congratulatory emails. Weekend work rarely happens, but I think most of the January results will have been pushed through by next Tuesday. Someone posted on here a while back that when the college choices either get locked or greyed out, that's a sign. I can't validate that because that view of the website isn't available to me. But, if you were looking for something to do besides check the inbox, there could be that option as well.
I smoke cigars when I am nervous, which for the record, is bad for you. But, it could work
Capt Myers, My DS' application landing/status page has had the College Preference missing for about a week. Reading tea leaves? Damn I'm biting my nails like SquidmomWhat I "think" has happened is that some of the board members who had Midshipmen on one of these two boards have sent congratulatory emails. 10 year Marine and now Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic and I have never been as nervous doing those jobs as I am now.By the way to all, I noticed when signing in to the Net focus site there is a "scheduled outage" on 2/1 - I wonder if that is when they will be inputting results?! they had the time block listed too though I don't recall that
A wonderful early birthday present! Congratulations!F--K YEAH!!!!!! HE GOT ONE!!!!!!!
Just got the email!
First off, I thought you were leaving to smoke a cigar?Captain - this is a very dumb question so sorry to ask - -when you say they "had midshipman on one of those two boards" does that mean they are already in the USNA? I'm just not sure the distinction between midshipmen above and DS - thank you
A tip from Nemo, remember to maintain eye contact and back away slowly!First off, I thought you were leaving to smoke a cigar?
But to answer the question, no, those Mids were not in the USNA. For some reason, there are Mids who join as NROTC but either missed a deadline or for whatever reason had not been selected for NROTC 4 Year in their high school senior year. They are eligible to apply again and be part of this year's round of National Scholarships. So, in terms of these Mids being college programmers, they are being looked at for 4 year national scholarships. You could actually call it a 4 year sideload, but that would make some people really confused, so we left it as 4 year scholarships.
By the way, I am now heading off to smoke my cigar. My Mids have heard the results are trickling out, but I don't have the full list either. I have run out of excuses, and they are now practicing rifle drill with bayonets. Time for me to make an exit.
