Thank you for your reply. The HR civilian replied to him requesting submission of the administrative AMI. He responded that he sent it yesterday. He was then given information about the waiver process today.
DoDMETS has the Agency listed as US Navy CSB. From the acronyms I found on this...
It has been a while since I have posted. DS did not receive a nomination for the Naval Academy last year but had completed his DoDMERB. We knew there would be a request for AMI because of a previous injury, but it was not pursued for obvious reasons. He is now participating in NROTC at his...
I was going to say this as well. My DS earned a 4 yr AFROTC scholarship and was not selected for FT last summer. Within a week, he began the disenrollment process and spoke to AROTC. He signed his contract at the beginning of the school year 😃
So, the OP needs to know that a commission is not...
Earlier this year when my son was not selected for FT for AFROTC (thus losing his scholarship), he decided he still wanted to serve. He was able to communicate with his people and fast tracked the disenrollment process.
Today he received official word that he is medically qualified through...
But if he doesn’t accept, he won’t be able to continue with the program and commission in two years since field training is not optional.
Optional to accept, meaning he can continue without AFROTC I suppose.
Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! I should probably start researching AROTC now. My son was AFROTC but didn’t earn a a lot at Field Training. So, he has decided to do the SMP program next year. Go Army!
My DS received a no as well. He’s still going to his #1 school and will start as a college programmer. I told him to kick a$$ and hopefully he’ll earn a 3 yr next year.
Congrats to those who’ve earned a scholarship! Be proud of that accomplishment.
Yes, he got squeezed like a lemon ;) He lost his scholarship and won’t get one with Army. However, he will get a stipend. I don’t remember what he said about Basic though. He’ll figure it out and probably tell me a week before LOL
My son wasn’t willing to take the gamble. I told him that if he wanted to be AS500, I would pay for the extra year of school if he received an EA next year. He said nope.
