Well, I got my butt kicked a few times. Just got one in 3 so doing one more (students are taking an exam and I can watch them over my monitor for shenanigans) then heading home to not play Wordle.
 
@Heatherg21, sorry if my post came across as scolding. I really wasn't trying to be. You didn't know any better. Sometimes it's hard to be nice in the written word.

Rhetorical question: Is it better to solve in three moves 50% of the time and fail the rest, or in six moves 100% of the time? My goal is 100% and I really don’t care how many moves it takes.

Great life question. I tell my kids that they should fail or get rejected 3x a year at something because they were pushing too hard. Whether trying out for QB, asking someone out on a date or trying to get a certain job. But alas, this is only Wordle….
 
I haven’t dived in. But am aware of this world wide phenomena called Wordle. Which, BTW, was created by Josh Wardle. Interesting.

Instagram shut down an account that was a spoiler account for the word of the day. For violating their ‘terms of agreement’ (Interesting the things that are shut down, and things that aren’t).

Wordle on!!

I whipped out the WOTD first thing this AM.
This archived one - wow - used multiples of rarely used consonants. I had to walk away several times and come back before I got the neuron leap.

Several attempts at words that use common letters.

I stupidly played last night when I was exhausted and used three chances. Guessing at the yellow one I got first.

Now it appears hopeless.

My usual strategy after getting just one letter in the first pass is to go next to a word using 5 new unused letters, in the hope of catching more. I had to do that twice, then got the first found letter situated, and with the few remaining consonants, no vowels but a trusty “y” sound, got there.

I didn't take it that way, you weren't wrong!! I just needed a warm-up. I'm getting better as I work my way through the archives. Haven't tried today's yet. Busy at the garage.
