Too Outdated to Use?

I found an old Facebook post from USNA Admissions that reads "Just so you know, the bulk of the class is formed in February/March, and we try to mail out all offers and letters of regret by April 1." This post was from February 13th, 2013 so I was wondering if it is too outdated to take into consideration or if it is still good information.

There is another old post I found that said they get a large majority of their rejections out by March 15 and if you don't receive one by then, you are very competitive. Thoughts?

That is interesting, and news to me. I wonder what some of the more experienced folks on this forum can make of it...

BGOs learn if their candidates get TWEs, but no earlier (and maybe later) than the candidates themselves.

All anyone can say is if you have not received a TWE you are still in the running. every year is different.
Interesting observation

thanks USNA1985. Just an interesting observation from the USMA board, they are reporting far more TWEs than being reported here. I’m guessing it’s not a statistical anomaly and that there is a philosopica difference in rolling out the TWE’s. It appears that the USMA protocol is to TWE as soon as the data shows the candidate isn’t going to make it, and that the USNA protocol is to save up the TWEs and perform a mass distro on or around April 12th. The Navy way may be more administratively efficient, but it is certainly more stressful for all the DS, DD, and DPs!

Last year that was March 22.

My only thought is why are you bothering with old posts? Do you think everything works exactly the same from year to year? Seems to me nothing does that. The date is APril 15th, go with that.

I'm just curious if the government shutdown has anything to do with them supposedly being behind (got that info from another who posted that 40% of appointments were done as of Feb 21 when they attended a CVW). Who knows with admissions though, anything could happen I suppose. I just want a darn answer at this point . Nobody from my district has heard anything yet other than one for West Point.

April 15th 99% will know. I feel like this year we have not seen a lot of TWEs yet, but that is just my perception. Bottom line... as we have said for months, prepare to wait until April 15th and have a plan B.
